Today I was trying to ask CS where I might find the T &C's for the Web Saver Reward, but they refused to help.

I hold out some hope for tomorrow - but not much.

If you have communicated with the Halifax in the same way that you have just jumped on opinions4u, I don't hold out much hope for you either.

Many thanks. I hope you won't get into trouble with Customer Services... The Halifax Web Saver reward is mentioned on page 16 - but there is nothing about the interest rate dropping, or it not being applicable if you take a card that I could find. Is it there?

...It wouldn't have been working at Halifax for 15 years, would it?
No. I worked for them for 20 years.
"I have worked for Halifax bank for 15 years. Thus my opinions are not opinions, but one occluded opinion that cannot be said to be independent no matter how much I would like it to be."
My signature line did used to include my employment history. But a series of cretinous PMs, similar to your current rant, led me to conclude it wasn't a good idea. But it's not something I've ever hidden. As longer standing members of this place will verify.
I notice that it was you who began the thread on 1st April 2011 promoting the Web Saver reward - or whatever it is called - here, and that consequently there were a large number of people who had difficulties comprehending which product they had signed up for, what rate they had etc. - but it is noticeable that you neglected to mention any of that in the context of our situation and complaint. That feels rather disingenuous.
To be quite frank, I post far too much on this forum and had no recollection of starting a thread on the subject.

That said, it does appear that I became aware of a major savings provider offering a best buy easy access savings account and shared the information. Which is pretty much the whole point of the forum.

For what it's worth I thought I'd tried to be helpful to you throughout this thread. I'm not sure that it warranted the response above.

    Who didn't what anyway?

Surely you are not claiming that Opinions4u was not trying to be helpful. You yourself have confirmed that Opinions4u has been helpful by thanking useful posts.

Completely expected and in line with the varying degrees of intellect found across the population.
As I recently had cause to say on another thread there are far too many people who do things in a hurry, or when tired, or when stressed, or a myriad of other excuses, and then don't check what they have done later, who simply will not take responsibility for their own actions.
Personally I suspect the culprit could be the wooly liberal left education system of the 70s and 80s - but that's a discussion for another day. :D

According to a recent survey 16% of people cannot find a balance on a bank statement.

...I may or may not be a cretin, but my eyesight is failing. I can't see any mention of the interest rate drop if you take up the card option in either of these T & C's.
