Boiler dripping water

Options
I have Worcester Bosch Greenstar 28i Junior boiler. This evening I noticed water dripping from the boiler. I removed the outer cover to check where the leak is coming from. It is coming in the form of very fine sprays shooting out from the flow connection from the heat exchange boiler. I need help; is this an issue for a plumber or a gas engineer or is this a DIY work? Thanks foryour help.

  • RGI & you shouldn't have removed the front cover, turn off the power & the isolation valves under the boiler, then either call an RGI in the morn or get a fixed priced repair from WB
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

Does the casing for this boiler form part of the gas train Cy? No don't look it up please - honest answer needed.

Actually there are three possible answers:

    1. Yes in which case its an RGI job.
    2. No in which case you might be correct in your reply but if OP doesn't know and you don't want to give other people who do not know, a clue that it might be all right to remove the cover of their boiler especially when the answer might be yes in their case then the correct advice is that it IS an RGI job.
    3. Don't know in which case its an RGI job.

    Cheers

The fact that the cover has already been removed is the point, the op did that not me.

What would I do, the same as the op and a million others, I'd have a shuffty to see what was wrong, fix if I could, (leave the gas side out), and ensure the cover was fitted correctly to seal the unit, which I'm sure is what you are getting at.

Look it up, no, I'd ask here, then probably go my own way anyway.

No advice offered to the op, KS asked what I would do..

Yup! So have to ask as you were expecting the answer what was the point of the post - unless it was just mischeviously poking with sharp sticks on a sunny Friday? :D:D

Oh yes forgot to answer that one. Sorry, Yes stand by what I said. Don't know why you "begged to differ" tbh - the pic you uploaded is of a substantaily bigger space than a small room which is what I was talking about. Its all about how it looks and the relative proportions. Yours looks fine. 600 x 600 in a 2m x 2m bathroom looks pants as said. But we are going off topic. I'll find that thread later, copy and paste this answer and then delete this. No time to go looking for it just at the moment I'm afraid but you do have an answer. ;)

;) As your so expert on the subject, its actually called Health & Safety and protection of the masses and the individual, and yeh individuals are also accountable for there own Health and Safety, NOT put the blame on others :p

Its the public who need protection from cowboys and very bad DiY advise, not to support or protect the RGi's, there responsibility like everyone else is as an individual to ensure they work safely and that they are the knowledgeable people on their trade, and suitable Insured:(

AND what you have given no consideration to, as you are blinkered, is that it is a room sealed boiler and the consequences of flue gas escape, you know that invisible non smelling stuff that KILLS

I accept what you are saying, but I did acknowledge that fact in the trap KS sent me, check back.

It's getting to be a very strong GSR !!!!! in this forum, and guess what guys, no one died before it did.

Go on then, get the searches going, you can prove me wrong I know, but in perspective, it isn't the rocket science some folks would make it out to be.

And yes, I am wearing a flack jacket.

When you retire you avoid bank holidays like the plague, hence my presence.

My posts provocative? of course they are sometimes. otherwise this all gets very boring.
Keep it polite and I have now issues, the readers hear the arguments and benefit I'm sure.
