Hi this has just happened to my son today. Parked to go to the cinema but walked towards the town centre to meet a friend. His ticket is timed at 2.25 and the film started at 3.20 so obviously wasnt gone long, unfortunately he threw his cinema ticket in the bin so can't prove he went. What should we do?

Please see my signature below. Help will then be on the way. :)

  • Ah sorry, looks like I've butted in where I shouldn't. I'll try and do my own thread.
  • Grrrr I'm trying to upload the pics but its saying I can't post a link! I took out the http thingy as well. :(
  • Guys Dad, I can't find the signage thing on that link you gave me, there appears to be no section 18?

Should I send the PCC an appeal so I can get the popla code from them? Sorry if I seem antsy I just feel like I'm not doing anything at the minute and I want this out of my life as quickly but as effectively as I can.

    .

    Sorry, wrong link http://www.britishparking.co.uk/write/Documents/AOS/AOS_CoP_June_2013_update.pdf
  • It looks to me like the entrance sign to the car park doesn't meet some of the requirements of the BPA link Guys Dad gave me (thank you). It doesn't have the AOS roundel on it, it doesn't say terms and conditions apply and where to find them, and it doesn't technically say that it is managed by excel although it does have their details on it.

You can't post links until you have more posts (20 I think). Try replacing each . with the word 'DOT' and ALSO remove the http:// from the front and you should be able to show us.

So I should just ignore the "ticket" until a letter arrives in the post and then appeal?

Yep (means waiting till Sept/Oct) but don't discount complaining first to the 'hands that feed' this scammer at that site! Complain like all these people did and got their fake PCNs quashed:

And only speak to the Leisure Park Managers themselves; look them up on Google and phone or email the Management company responsible for the entire Leisure Park, which you will easily find out from your online search results.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Thanks coupon-mad, I tried your link suggestion but again it didn't work unfortunately.

I also tried to find out who owns the land the day I got the ticket, I spent quite a while googling and trawling through the net to find out but I had no luck with that at all. I even rang middlesbrough council but they said they do not own the land, and I also rang mcdonalds and cineworld and they both denied having anything to do with the car park as well. They all said that Excel own that car park but I don't know whether they really do actually "own" it.

Will I still get a popla code if I wait for the NTK to arrive?

I was thinking I might send the PCC an "appeal" but basically pointing out all their faults with their signage, and them saying they are BPA approved but are in no way following their codes of practise, maybe pushing them into just cancelling the fake PCN?
