What about the Harrods store card? this I'm sure had cpp attached to it and i'm sure I have a statement from the late 90s to prove it.
I'd better get busy and dig it out just in case.
  • I took PPI with my credit card in June 2004 (HSBC). I have made a claim but it was rejected in July.
Looks like I will not be one of the lucky ones with this either..:(

Will not cry just yet as I still have plans and helpful people from this forum!!! wish me luck!!!! :)

I had ID fraud protection from CPP for a few months after being talked into it when activating a card. Cancelled after i discovered the true value of the policy somewhere online.

Definitely since 2005 but can't remember if it was A&L or Santander that sold it, does anyone know if i'll get a letter automatically either way?

i don't understand how lloyds have escaped this scam. a "friendly" bank manager persuaded my elderly parents to join an id scheme etc and took a whack from them before i discovered what was going on and told them to stop it.

I bought a video recorder in 1985 from Dixons - on HP- and was required to take out payment protection - is there any way that I can claim back any of that ?
I seem to remember that SENTINEL was involved !!
  • I am currently paying a CPP policy for protection against fraud. Do i still continue paying the monthly direct debit until i receive a letter from them. Started the policy in 2012. Not sure what would be the best course of action??
  • Hi,
I was sold this on my first ever credit card in 2002 - I'm still with the same bank and still have the same credit card account which still has the policy on it automatically being renewed annually.

Am I right in thinking - therefore - that I don't need to take any action and wait for this to 'play out' or should I be following up with my bank?

    Thanks!

    Hello

I've moved a number of times since I had the cover.

They won't have my new address. What am I meant to do?

I rang them this morning to change my address seemed pretty simple.

When should I contact my bank / card issuer?

For matters relating to the scheme, you are not required to contact your bank / card issuer at this time. If you do have any further queries regarding the scheme, including updating the address we will send letters to please contact us using the details on the contact us page.

  • I had CPP card protection back in the 1990's and paid them for years. I have no info on the card now and have moved home several times since withdrawing from the scheme. Do I have a claim, and if so how can I go about it?

I got my letter today. I've changed my name (got married) and moved address several times since cancelling my policyand they have managed to find me, although I do still have the bank account that the credit card with the policy was taken out on.

I took the policy out circa 1997 and autorenewed until I cancelled iaround 2006. Because this is after the 2005 date will I be refunded all the money in one hit or do I need to file two seperate claims , one under this scheme post2005 and one to my bank pre2005?
