    Hiya
I've used the pasta sauce a few times and it's nice ;)
I also became a value shopper a couple of months ago and most of it is great !
They also do a baby wash for 20p which is great ... I use it for my hair too, which is usually quite sensitive but it works great :D
Oh and my boys use it as it doesn't sting as much if it eats in your eyes ... I do have to pull the label off though, but this is only because it says baby not because of the value :o
My boys are really god and agree that hey would rather spend the savings on something better than a name on a tin of beans :T

And if you're a working mom, don't forget, costing your time in to actually shop, prep and cook from scratch can actually make 'home made' cost more. I love reading about all the home made stuff that people on here make, but I'll be honest, it's a compromise for me. Some I make from scratch, some I'll happily buy.

Absolutely!! I like other past time then just at work and at the cooker...

The rim blocks do last well, but can settle in the cistern - I stir mine from time to time (yes, an unusual pastime, but otherwise it just sits there).

Hmmm, need to try the pasta sauce, would be great for quick lunches to take to work when I run out of ideas - fresh ingredients.

OH wanted to make a japflacks the other day (don't know what suddenly got into him) and I bought the value oats and value dried fruit and it was really yummy.

Though I don't like the value rice... I bought it once and never again.

I buy a lot of value or just Tesco stuff... Though I have to confess some things I still like branded...
Like Coke zero (my guilty pleasure) or Heinz beans... Though only bought when on offer!!

I always keep a packet of the value toothbrushes in the bathroom cabinet. Son-in-law frequently forgets to bring his when they come to stay.

The value oats are fine and so is the butter. I use the value flour too.

    Hello Bella and all.
As times are getting tougher and money tighter more and more will start turning to VALUE range. Our family included. I find it is a way of bringing the shopping bill lower, even with HM.

I too! have the value toothbrushes. I bought them for when people stay and forget their own.
I use the value brushes for cleaning. Brilliant for going around taps and scrubbing with bleach on the bathroom tiles.

We ate the value flans for dinner this week with the usual potatoes and veg. 1 is enough for 2 people.

The chicken pieces in a bag frozen is good if cooking meat for one.
I cooked 5 pieces for OH and he ate the lot. (smallish = drum stick or chicken piece.) I am not a big meat eater so had the value golden rice(packet, I think 29p) and fresh steamed veg.

I have also bought this week for the first time value cornflakes and value fruit & fibre cereal. I chop up some fresh fruit and add to my bowl for breakfast. I am trying to cut down on toast (bread).
The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)
  • Well done on taking the big step of trying value products, it takes a lot of courage when you have been used to brands.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

  • You wasted money.

Rim blocks ? In all my adult life I've yet to buy a single one.

    How much money saving have I done ? £700 ? £300 maybe ?
