No, Credit files are by name and not Address. Of cause anything you had at previous addresses would show up.
I assume your wife's accounts are all in order too if their is a financial link. E.g. Joint bank account or borrowing.
I'd start with getting hold of your experian, equifax and call credit files. That may lead to your answer, if not it will be down to some internal natwest policy / scoring mechanism and you may just have to go to another bank.0 -
Hi. Yes wife account all in order. I will do that. Thanks for your help, really do appreciate it. I just want to know what the marker is and why it's on.. Not even bothered about the account anymore..lol0

I realise this is an old thread but did you ever get this sorted?? We have been turned down for a mortgage with Natwest (one of only 2 lenders open to us) and the reason is a z-marker on an RBS account of my husbands. We haven't dug too deep yet (well, he hasn'r rung RBS yet) but wondered if you had had any luck getting the marker removed?0

Unfortunately the OP hasn't returned to the site since making the above post, so he's unlikely to answer.0

It could be worth filing a subject access request with the bank if you're concerned about what information they hold about you. I've never heard of this 'Z' marker, and maybe there's no other pertinent information held, although I'd be surprised if there wasn't. As far as I know, they are legally obliged to send you a copy of all the information they hold about you (£10 fee).

Hi,
No never got it sorted and still go messed around and unable to get credit with RBS despite a very good credit report and no problems..very frustrating as nattiest will not deal with it!!!0 -
Oh no
But thanks for the reply brummyboy. After finally getting throuhg to his RBS branch they said there was no marker there and that my husband was pre-approved for a 25k loan! And RBS reckon they can offer us exactly the same mortgage we applied for with Natwest so we're going down that route and forgetting NatWest who obviously have some kind of issue with us. 0
