the only way around this problem would seem to be to abolish inflation

ive never been a fan of it. it's never done anything of benefit for me

any politacal party that proposes its abolition will get my vote

Problem is that arguably it is governments that benefit most from inflation!

You don't understand inflation at all do you? It is not something that is set by government.

To turn this argument on its head, why shouldn't the onus be on the employer to demonstrate why the OP is worth less this year than last?
It is OP that is asking for something to change.

Along with BoE they do have the machinery to control it though.

Yes, however the "system" is rigged in favour of the employer because inflation guarantees to erode OP's pay year on year. So things change for the employer without any asking needing to be done. As you mentioned in another post government can heavily influence inflation. In fact it is no secret at all that the government will do everything possible to ensure a positive inflation figure at all times - this is stated policy.

i was being a little bit tongue in cheek about inflation

but since we live in a democracy and most people are employees, wht dont polital parties that would insist on better employee protections do better?

if inflation benefits governments but not the people who vote for governments then why is it tolerated

    is democracy an illusion ?
