Could you explain how the donations to the Tory party are stopping small builders from elbowing their way in?0 -

There may be many reasons: they may be buying a Knighthood or place in the house of lords, or lobbying for easing lending restrictions or easing planning restrictions or help to buy etc.
However my question was about your specific linking of the donations to making it harder for small builders to elbow their way into more house building.0 -

Well help to buy is one example. It's only with certain builders, so straight away you will be up against the big builders able to offer easier access to buyers.
It's the equivalent of suggesting someone should just take on tescos. It's not quite as easy as that.0 -

OK so you accept that smaller builders can get planning permission without any political interference?0 -

Allegedly in in som eparts of the country if you are the chairman of the local cricket club or in a similar august postion and someone wants to build on the plot next door to you, you have little to fear if you don't want it to happen....I think....0

Though a very small amount of experience suggests the process is so political it's a minefield.
ok
I am willing to believe that you genuinely believe that a conspiracy that encompasses the Tory party/ government and extends to most/all local government (irrespective of party allegiance) plus the 'tesco' effect explain the lack of small builders producing houses.
However it means there is no point in debating lending levels, planning policies, local government costs, land taxes etc as the answer is government corruption and tesco.0 -
LOL, I love watching Devon wriggle on his own hook. Well done Clapton for not letting Devon get away with his propaganda.0

You are getting just as bad as chucky for making something completely random up and then something and then stating I suggested it.
I have stated what I mean by smaller builders finding it hard to elbow their way in. Which, as it happens, you have completely ignored.
I agree with you that there is no point debating if all I'm doing is constantly (and it does seem constantly at the moment) correcting you on your next wild assertion.
As I say....if I mean something, I'll type it. I won't wait for someone else to decide what I mean for me.0
