I'm working on my design for the site, I'm also contacting companies around some other IT services I can offer, still really early days though.0

How do you get people to find your websites? I'm struggling with this!0

Hey ladies, I'd love to do something like this, at the minute though, I'm living in a different country and a stay at home fiancee to my OH who got a job over here so being bored is kinda getting to me.
I was good at writing when I was at school and was thinking of writing some sort of e-book? Something Chick-litty to get me started?
Any other ideas? I use to do swagbucks but it pays out so slow it's like pulling hens teeth!094 Sealed pot member! (7) €185 (8) €138 (9) €€250

Good thread this
Just to let you know I am blogging about this very topic, well it's what the entire blog is about really, It's called 'The Money Shed', you can see the address for it in my profile0 -
I would like to join this challenge if I can. I work full time but live alone and am struggling to have any spare cash left over after paying all bills etc (have racked up a fair bit of debt to pay off, so anything I earn I would like to put towards that).
I do the usual things like surveys, and am just getting into Swagbucks and all the other daily things we can do to make some cash. I sell on ebay (stuff from car boots) but don't keep a note of what I make from that.
Would like to start earning from online jobs through Textbroker, elance and sites like that, on top of my eBaying. So aim for £200 a month....slightly ambitious maybe but will see how it goes!0 -
I just wanted to update on my situation...
I am currently earning an extra £0 p/m!! - I guess we've sold a few things, so can say maybe made £50 in total since I first posted in here....
Next year is the year though! Keep promising myself this!
How is everyone else getting on?0 -
Hey Craig,
I kept meaning to come back to this and bump it up at some point lol.
I've managed to find something to sell on Ebay and I am doing really well - I should be able to turn it into a full time job eventually.
Thing is my plan is to earn nothing this year in the way I will do a major stock up in March with any profit so as bad as it sounds...I'd still get the tax credits I would be entitled for that year, their is a few machines and stock and postage stamps that would be ideal to waste quite abit...plus I'd have some idea by then how much I am earning monthly to see if I can pack up work in Sept 14 my MIL has offered to have both kids once a week once I go back so I am thinking at worst I will cut one day off out of three..and at best I will just work one day (as at least Id have a steady income of £200 a month as Ebay sales can go up and down so it would be some security without having to worry about childcare)
If I had to give an estimate atm I'm probably getting in an extra £150-200 a month so I'd be around the £200-£250 mark now but I only started in Oct and wasn't really set up properly till end of Oct/start of Nov so personally think I'm doing really well but I've got a long way to go...People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -

I think its a growing industry atm being able to sit at a computer to order (i.e hungry horse/justeat sites) but most don't want to pay their fees to advertise on their.
Theirs lots of things really, Id just start locally and just think to yourself who could profit from a website and start offering your services either by popping in or leaflets..advertising on gumtree..
To do it professionally though you will need a good website eventually but were all just starting here :-)
Sorry to bump this thread but THAT'S A SUPERB IDEA! Got a few in mind already just by you saying that thanks so much!
Also showed one of my current projects for a friend to a friend of mine I used to work with and wants to offload loads of work onto me haha sorted, just need to finish at least one of them off.Kayalana99 wrote: »I've made good progess on my blog but not linked it up to adsense anyway, it is a long process unf lol esp at size I want it. Something someone may find interesting and/or helpful is the opposite to adwords (I think of as the opposite to adsense, that's when you put adverts either just randomly generated or listed as per the content on your site), is when you purchase keywords to put at the top of the search rankings (a part of SEO).
There's a several ways this can pan out though, most people who buy services or products aren't affected by this at all, I mean most of them come from without using any type of advertising that's paid for on the web.
Unless you know exactly what you're doing its best avoid paying google any money on advertising your site (purchasing keywords). It's not necessarily impossible just my recommendations to be very careful about that.
Also even if you do go and pay for having your own search terms, they're only as good as what you set them for, I mean trying to debate with myself about the content I have on my site.
It's like some... this can go either way to be honest as well, you can have loads and loads of content but nothing relevant, so SEO's practically useless in that case, but then you can have small amounts of content but everything you have it relevant.
I haven't really worked this one out yet (I'm not a trained marketeer) but I think it goes off the more phrases of something you have then the higher your rankings (not exactly sure) I have heard around that can get you banned from being listed on google's search results for doing that.
But there's a certain priority the more backlinks (pingbacks they're called in wordpress cms) you have going to your site the better it will perform in the search results than having links around your site. Though even that helps. Or so I have heard.
I just don't like seeing people waste their money on purchasing needless things they dont really need, or purchasing something that's basically useless like a search term that's going to be too exact for their needs you know...How do you get people to find your websites? I'm struggling with this!
Not trying to put you off at all of coursebut really I mean I will use an example of this, I had a problem with a service I was trying to configure on my server (cant remember when but was way over a year ago (you'll have to excuse me for typing errors or whatever I have just done an all nighter I've had no sleep)). I was yea trying to configure a service (think it was monitoring my services on my server) anyways... the search term to try and find out the solution to my problem I put it that well onto my blog that I went back say 4 weeks later to try and fix it again it came up with my entry in my previous (taken down now) techie blog lol.
So in short you must have things people want to search for on your site basically.Doing some indepth analysis of my outgoings it's a real eye opener!
I find if I keep paying by card and keeping the receipts insisting that I have them from the shop, then itemising them when I get home on excel makes my life a whooole lot easier!0 -
I've just read an article that is great motivation to those wanting to make money online with internet marketing or building websites to gain traffic.
It's called Dollar a day challenge the guy explains how its best to start with a low goal of a dollar a day. You learn more and more as you go. You could aim for £1 a day. Doesn't sound like much, but if you think about it, that would bring £30 a month. Now once you get the hang of it, you can make another site and aim for £1 a day. Next thing you know, you're earning £60 per month. You build up slowly, learning all the time, tweaking, making more and more pages.
I started this long process about 3 years ago, studied it in depth, even got myself signed up to a*sense and A*azon affiliates but alas something came up and I never got off the starting block. I could kick myself now of course!Make £10 a day challenge Jan £231.630
