I would love to join .... As my girls go back to school in September I would love to make a £100 a week !

  • Can I join please?
I have just had my first baby and, having considered the cost of childcare, my husband and I made the decision that I should stay home to look after him rather than return to work.
Although my DH's income covers our bills (just!) I would still like to do my bit!
I love making things and am quite crafty. I am planning on making cards, knitted/crochet toys, sewing projects etc and selling them on ebay or similar. Will see how it goes but it would be brilliant if in time I could make £100 a month.
Does anyone do product testing, polls? I've heard that they can be quite good if you can get on them.
    Thanks for your help/advice

Only thing I am on atm is Swagbucks, its vry easy to earn £5-£10 (although bloody time consuming) a month but I lost the will with it as I am just getting bored of doing surveys for less then 50p when they take 30-60min to do.

If your not doing anything anyway though its extra money hehe.

So far I've looked/rummaged through the fabric stash i have. Oh dear! I seem to have rather alot, some of it i don't even remember buying. I definately have supplies to start me off. Must now get all my craft books out and look at the patterns i have downloaded.
There are some really good free patterns online that i think i could use.

I started making dolls and toys years ago and sold them very well then this progressed into cushions and curtains, i did lots of outwork for different shops over the years - but not much of this around now.

I've already signed up to the selling sites of Etsy and Folksy but i have never tried to sell anything on them, i just look at other peoples things. Now sounds like a good time to try.

Today, in between feeding the animals I'm going to dust off the sewing machine and set it up in the spare room and start to get organized.

Good luck to everyone in getting started.

I'd love to join this challenge.. might make me put more effort into selling stuff on my website (car parts)

I used to do quite well with it but since having our second child I find it hard to find the time to do anything with the website.

I also need to sell all our old baby bits and anything we don't need!

I also have a blog but don't make any money from it lol

I'm going to aim for £100 per month

I'd love to join in the challenge too! I'm a SAHM (and will be for a few years yet, I suspect) and when the children start back to school in a few weeks time I will hopefully have a little spare time on my hands! I'm planning on selling things online, maybe eBay, etsy and the like. I knit and sew and my goal would be to sell at craft fairs if I can get that far, but for now I'd like to make up what my tax credits have been reduced by this year; £60 per month. Once I am getting that I will aim higher, but crafting can be time consuming and not very well paid, so it really depends on the hours needed.

Good luck to everyone! Are we putting this challenge in our sigs or shall we update in this thread?

I have decided my ultimate goal will be to work as a writer from home, I've just released my first book -

A short story of a normal family rocked by the crisis of child abuse, as told from the point of view of a child in the heart of the situation. Read the story of the un-named child and her younger sister Lucy as they experience the worst kind of betrayal by members of their own family and how their lives were effected and changed thereafter.

It's getting good reviews (not all are showing online) so I'm soon to be working on my second book. It's great as I really enjoy writing so it's not like a job at all. Takes a LOT of promotion to get anywhere though!!
