Wouldn't you need internet access to use the app / boarding pass? If so that would be fine in the UK, but could be very expensive using roaming data.0

You load the boarding pass onto your smartphone at home, then turn your internet off and the page will still be visible (hopefully) when you hand over the smartphone at the airport. I think all the airports I've been to have free wifi anyway. I admit it seems less reliable in some ways than taking a printout, but then I don't own a printer, whereas my smartphone is glued to my side on long journeys.0 -

Loading it at home would be fine for the outward journey. I was thinking about the boarding pass for the return journey from overseas.0 -
Jackie: Thanks for your previous recommendation of Premier Inn Heathrow terminal 5. I am staying at the new Gatwick North terminal one this time.
We've also booked the new Gatwick North terminal one for our next flights at Christmas.2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

I used my electronic passes downloaded onto my iPhone this week at Glasgow and stanstead airports. It was my first time and it was extremely easy. I downloaded them into the 'passbook' app and they were easy to access. I used the pass going through security, at the gate and showed the air steward on the plane. I had two passes on my phone. The other one was for my OH. At security I went through the gate and handed it back to him for him to use to get through. You don't need Internet as you have downloaded it onto an app0

I've used the BA mobile app a few times and it has worked very well. Yes, it's a bit of a gimmick but I'm terrible for losing pieces of paper so having boarding passes on my phone is better for me. You just need to make sure your battery doesn't go flat.0

I've used it quite a lot with Easyjet and BA over the last 3 months but always took the paper version with me just in case the phone died.
I still put it on the phone (just in case), but just use paper now as it's less faff than entering your PIN code if your phone locks and then hoping that the airline staff won't drop it.
I can't imagine only using a phone and never having a paper back-up, so to me it's a gimmick.0 -
I have now downloaded the Easyjet app onto my android smartphone and to my ipod touch. I have the boarding pass for my return journey on both but still had to print out the one for my outward journey as Gatwick cannot yet accept the electronic version. There is no problem accessing the boarding pass on the app. However I will also have printed copies as a back up.0

On my return flight i was badly delayed and it was late in the evening. i wanted to ring Premier Inn to check that my room woul be held open. Their website only gives an 0844 number so I had to waste money trying to find an alternative number on the saynoto0870 site online. That was my one grumble.0
