New month.  The BG money eventually showed and that was put straight into the mortgage.  Have made this months first payment, so now at £19k.  I am hoping to end this month at £18,500.

I really like prolific, transferred another £22 into the paypal account.    Sadly, Huyu are closing down.  I was never great at getting payments from them, but I just need to scan 2 more receipts before the end of the month and I can claim my final £5 from them.

Went to the hairdresser on Saturday as I hadn't been since mid December.  money well spent, but of course, wondering it I should have utilise the money differently, like into the mortgage, but I recognise that I am at risk of becoming obsessive with the repayments.

Anyway, NSD on Sunday and today.  Shouldn't need to buy anything until Thursday, which will be fuel for the car.

Calor came and filed the Gas tank last week.  I know I was in credit, but fantastic news, I had a fill and am still in credit!  All positive going forward as I have been doing 1 fill a year for a few years now, and that was it for 2023.

Bank switches are going well.  Waiting for pay-outs and for any more to come online, so I can get another lump sum.  Money for old rope.  Currently owed £525.00, but you have to wait a couple of months for a couple of them - Santander and Co-Op.  Good things come to he who waits.  Some of the money from these switches will go into the mortgage and I will hopefully be able to add to them to get me where I need to be by the half year point.  I have already blown through the 3 month budgetary expectation.

Nearly holiday time.  Can't wait. All money accounted for, so no spend that will take me outside my budget.

Still waiting for a bill that should have arrived in November.  I have the money waiting, assuming the bill is as expected.  Again, watch this space.

Once back from my jollies, I will have a good hard, long look to see if there is anything else I can do to increase income or reduce outgoings to a significant amount to allow me to continue with the overpayments on the mortgage.  So close, I can taste it!

I wish I could think of some way of making money in the short term.  A pt job to help me focus.

You are doing great on the switches, OPs and budgeting. Fab news on the gas refill and still being in credit. It all helps.

Enjoy your hollibobs when they come.

Thanks Savings.  I intend to really let go of all the crap at work and just enjoy my holiday.

Leigh, the below £20 is fantastic isn't it.  But to be honest, because I am becoming obsessed with this, I am now looking at the next goalpost, which is £15k.  How many months will it take me to get to that one, and can I help it along by doing something specific?  Selling the cat perhaps?  Not that he is worth much to anyone else!

Yes, the cat.  Someone was advertising two kitties last night as the elderly gentleman who was their care giver has gone into a residential home.  They were beautiful and I wanted to help, but realistically, I can't disrupt my cat's life like that.

One more sleep before my jollies!!  I really should finish packing.

Hi, noticed you had encouraged me on my diary so I thought I'd pop by

Well fell down the rabbit hole reading your diary - wow you should be so proud of yourself with your payments and everything you have achieved.  Have you looked back and took in everything you have done?

You will smash this so don't be so hard on yourself - you've got this

    Take care

Hello skye_blue and welcome to my ramblings over the past 10 years!  I am sometimes saddened that, here I am still not achieved the goal after 10 years.  The upside is that I am persistent!

I too opportunity to remind myself where i have come from and note that in June 2017, I owed £19k.  Maybe, this time, I will actually achieve the mortgage free goal.  I have stopped and started 3 times, always buying something to make the journey of life interesting and not all about money saving.

Anyway, waiting for £500 refund on a car deposit.  Was a good idea at the time s my car is getting tired, but in the end, the car isn't the right one for me.  So, try to get my deposit back and start again.
