I found 1 pound coin in my coat pocket and 2 in a drawer so that covers my first 2 weeks:). They have been put in an old (clean) mayo jar in the kitchen as I think seeing them glistening will keep me motivated to stick with challenge.

    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%

I had initially started doing this back to front (£52 first...) but had to pause that and eventually start using some of the money saved, sadly.

I've now started it again with minor twist. I'm not following a set pattern, 1 week I might add £30 and the next week might be £2 - but the 52 variations will be done. My income varies too much from month to month so this may give me bit more success.

    £133/1378

  • I am going to do exactly the same thing. Thought about doing it backwards but will probably find it hard to do it forwards this month!! I will start off forwards but on those months where there is more than less - then I will do some of the larger amounts. I'm going to make a grid and print it off and then colour it in - I'm so blue peter!!!).

    Thanks for the tip. x

I'm going to give this a go for 2014. I'm going to do it backwards though, as I definitely have less expenses this end of the year. Look forward to hearing everyone's progress.

Hi guys, I will be doing this one too. Very suited to me this kind of savings challenge, I will also be doing a slight twist by paying of a c.card with the money every now and then so that I won't be saving when I have debt, seems silly to do that.
I will be using my spare change tin and when I have a good amount to make an extra payment I will pop the money in the bank and transfer it across :)
Week 1 and 2 are already in the pot, bring on week 3 :j
    Don't turn a slip up into a give up:D
*NSD Challenge Nov 0/10* *£10 a day challenge Nov £0/£300*

  • This challenge is great... Have been inspired and DH joining too... I'm trying to repay £5000 cc this year.... Have got it down from£12000 over last 4 years so hoping final push with this sealed pot will help:) will add money for each week but not in order ... So far have £50 ... dH has £1 :) the sense of competition will hopefully help us! Was wondering is it worth while writing on the side of pot how much is in there or is that daft?
No more toys til Xmas 2022 , mfw 2023 challenge , Trying to not waste food , time or money and appreciate the moment more!
