Afternoon All
Overcast but not cold here. Booking the camp sites for the French holiday, going to have a week on the Somme after two weeks down south, then last night near Calais so we can stock up with wine/beer.

Good afternoon all. Out doing Car boots this morning, had to listen in on the lovely Polish lady on a stall trying to sell a Wiffle Iron, with interchangeable plates to cook different sorts of Wiffles.
Ended up with a lampstand, a fish tank, a camelbak, two lupins, and a visitor who came back for morning coffee. Can't thnk why I got the fish tank other than its costing 50p.
The O.S. habit is standing us in good stead, just had the financial advisor in, and with a bit of mortgage reshuffling, we're loads better off than we thought we were, and he was rather amused by my close hold on the details of my finances, ( compared to how much I'm currently throwing away on my mortgage.... no details on this board, obviously.) During the meetings, he has enquired about the breadmaker, asked where we source our "antiques" and generally been quite interested in our O.S. lifestyle. Things should move reasonably quickly, as there are no debts to sort out first. The thing that will slow it down is my lack of credit details, having never used credit.... so the search will look unusual apparently, and may arouse suspicion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lovely to lurk in on you all

Afternoon Guys!
Well, so much for taking it easy today:D I have wrote 2 letters for different companies, found paperwork needed for 2 others and enveloped them all-so just need to be posted tomorrow. Washed down the sides of the DW where all the muck stores up under the door at the bottom. 1 washload out hanging on the line. Tidied throughout, but TBH...wasnt that bad. Cleaned 2 inside windows, wiped inside 2 kitchen units, filed some paperwork, swept through and spot wiped the floors. Also listed15 items on Ebay as its half price this weekend;)
I still have my conclusion to complete on my essay, but as long as thats sent by 5pm tomorrow...thats fine! Then no more essays just revision for the next 3 months:j :j :j :j
DD had another 2hr drama rehersal this morning, so OH popped to Lidls and bought some more of their 2 min MW rice at 39p a packet. The offer finishes today, so he bought another 20 packets...they are in date till Nov 08 which is good:D OH has also hoovered out the car, so is all sparkly now.
Just realised DD only has 6 weeks till she goes away with the school for a week:eek:     ...we bought a lovely 2 piece luggage set in purple circles last week reduced to £15 for both. Thought this was good as they were both hard case and expandable...normally around that each I would have thought.
Anyway, chicken is now in the oven and are going ahead with the roast as Im sure I will eat it later. Have peeled alot of carrots with 2 cloves of garlic and covered with some olive oil to roast as they are lovely and sweet when roasted and we all like them like that. Have some leftover yorkies from last week in the freezer so will cook them for 5 mons later. Not too sure what other vag to have as I dont have anything else fresh in, so will probably be cut beans and sweetcorn
Anyway, Im off for a brew. Hugs to all.

Hi all
A gloriously hot day again today, so I've got rid of about 3 loads of washing - all hanging on the line.
I made some bread today with spelt flour, which rose much quicker than it does with my normal flour - it spilled out of the tins, so I had to scrape it all out and give it another knead. It came out fine though and tastes good.
I'm sure you all want to hear what happened next. I was in the middle of cooking tea when my son shouted "Grace has done a pooh in my bedroom!". Sure enough, there is was in all its smeary glory. Luckily on his plastic pirate island playmat, although the wooden pegs from his mastermind game were sticking out of it. Lovely job to clean up. Why, oh why won't she use the flamin' potty???!!! Or just leave her nappy on?!
Add to that the sand everywhere because they've been swimming on the beach during the holidays, and I'll be glad to see them off to school tomorrow!0 -
Hello you all. Glad to see Math back and we still have new posters.
Sorry, not had a good day, I have a rather dark cloud over me and don't know why! Have spoken to both my offspring today and they are just fine. DH just fine as did big help out with the prep for the ratatouille which is cooking. I have had another look at the Tesco thread on the Vent board and still going! How sad is that. I did try to diffuse situation (as others have!) days ago and it is still going on.
This is my comfort zone. Would rather talk to you lot!
Love and hugs to you all.

Evening all
We've had a lovely day here, weather is glorious, MIL & FIL came for lunch & I did Oven-baked chicken Thai rice followed by Eton Mess, both went down really well & MIL went off with the recipes.
They nearly always bring chocolate and/or flowers when the visit, but today when they popped to the supermarket to get them, they changed their minds and bought chocolate & a fresh chicken, strange idea, but much more useful & I was suitably grateful.
Am just waiting for lodger to return & then will have words, she went shopping yesterday & spent £50 in Boots & put £50 top up on her phone!!!
I think a brief lesson on priorites is due.
Hubby mowed the lawn, so the garden looks nice again & I'm about to make the Malteaser traybake to take to work tomorrow.
Hugs to all
Hester
