Good morning everyone!! I'm hoping for another sunny day here although it's cloudy at the moment.
Got back last night from taking my mum out for her birthday treat. We ended up at Weston Super Mare, I've never been there before, the beach is fabulous, all sand. We did all the touristy things for her, walked along the beach to the cafes etc and bought her fish and chips for lunch, then a huge '99' ice cream, then went for a paddle in the sea and ended up on the miniature railway (four old birds with a collective age of nearly 280 years! :rotfl: ). I wouldn't let her have a donkey ride thoughbut she took photos of them anyway.
She had a wonderful day and is already planning next year's event:eek: It was fun getting together with my two sisters too, we don't often have time together these days.
Got home to the news that DD23 had passed her exams with flying colours so a good day all round.
Unfortunately the downside of all this is that I had left OH at home to his own devices and so today will be spent clearing up the mess :rotfl: For some reason he is unable or incapable of keeping the place even remotely tidy and so I have a major operation to perform in the kitchen which is under three feet of tea cups, dirty plates, burnt on saucepans etc etc, not to mention two days' worth of newspapers lying about instead of being put in the recycle bin. Sigh.
So I'm off to shower now and to tackle some of the mess, I have to work today so not much time for house keeping, guess I will have to just NAG instead :rotfl: :rotfl:
Have fun in the sun everyone!

:hello: Morning!
Lovely to hear from you again Math! Envy you those seaside breaks, wish we had done the same when our kids were younger.
Today will be spent in the garden, so much needs doing, need to pop some lettuce, radish and spring onions in also some petite pois. We have a friendly robin to keep us company though.
Saved ourselves £23.45 yesterday just by querying car ins quote, they had me down as unemployed and as I am not looking for a job just yet I had that changed to housewife and down came the quote!!!:j Wish I had known this sooner!James - :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Good Morning - never been here before, but just read through everyones plans for the day. Really interested about the Chernobyl children's lungs being able to repair themselves - thanks for this info. OH back last night from 3 day walk (Bath to Bristol) I planned to write all the time he was gone but cold so bad couldn't even read, let alone write. Head and lungs stuffed up. We planned to go and look at the newly re-opened Festival Hall today, but his legs and my lungs not up to it, so have taken the cover off the sofa (spilled tea during coughing fit) and put in WM.
Then going to make myself read more of The Man Without Qualities, which is over 1100 pages. Have just passed p400. Will aim for p500 by tonight. Am I enjoying it ? Er...don't ask, sweetheart.
Supper will be aduki beans, watercress and a very, very small bit of beef. Knives, forks and microscope on the table. All Art is the transfiguration of the commonplace

Afternoon :j
Haven't been on much over weekend.
Went to see Jimmy Carr live on Friday night, he was brilliant! Got to meet him after and got my programme autographed
Yesterday didn't really get upto much, slept in till 11am  When I finally got myself together to do something, most of the day had gone lol
So this morn I got up bright and early, and have been doing housework all day.
I've....
Cleaned the kitchen
Cleaned out the fish tank
Tidied the garden
Dismantled the BBQ to clean it, and have the racks soaking in the bath at mo
Hoover the whole house
Tidied the kids room
Put on 2 lots of washing and hung out to dry
Made a Jelly for pudding later
Cleaned the toilet
Tidied up my bedroom
Now I'm having a well deserved sit down and rest :rotfl: .
Gonna go put a chicken in the oven in a min for roast dinner, yummy!!
Bye for now xxxx0 -
