Do not ring Smart and do not ring debt collectors! Waste of your time!

Carry on ignoring the debt collector letters, we've all had those in the past when the advice was always to ignore these fake PCNs. I have had three myself.

Next time you collect one, appeal once you get the first postal letter, without naming the driver. And then come here for advice on how to knock it into touch at POPLA. I assume that Smart did send a 'Notice to Keeper' out to you a month or two after the windscreen ticket? If not then you can complain about them to the BPA and DVLA so let us know if it went straight to debt collectors with no postal Notice in between?

And what happened when you complained to the Asda Store Manager in person? Plenty of successes recorded here from customers even months later, even with nasty PPCs like Parking Eye when they were shaping up for court (Town & City, aka Smart, have never done Court). These cases in the link below show PPCs who have all had the rug pulled out from under them by the Retailer after an assertive complaint in the right person's ear!

Take a leaf out of FranHazel88's book & dress smartly like you mean business; here's her Asda success several months after the debt collector letters started to annoy her:

Beware of the Asda knee-jerk bleating reply: 'we don't own the car park, nothing to do with us'. THAT'S A LIE.

ONLY SPEAK TO THE STORE MANAGER, NOT THE 'CS DESK FRUMP JOBSWORTH LADY' NOR A RANDOM SPOTTY TEENAGE 'DUTY MANAGER' FOR THE DAY WHO HAS BEEN DRAGGED OFF THE MEAT COUNTER TO FOB COMPLAINTS OFF.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Well there's a bold, rash statement! You know for a fact Asda own all their car parks? Every one?

    I think not!

And if the store manager doesn't come, what then? You ask for the complaints book and fill in all deals so there is a paper trail - you can even see their response and whether they agreed with the complainant.

Asda (owned by Walmart) may not own the car park as for tax fiddling reasons it is in fact owned by another company also owned by Walmart.

Yep most of these car parks and the land on which asda operates upon are owned by a subsidiary division of Walmart, somebody did a land registry search on some of their stores and posted it on here, wish I could find that thread now
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.
