Asda Parking Charge. Now There's Debt Collectors!

Hello all.
I am new here and I really joined for this but I will be sticking around.
I parked in Asda in Peterborough on 31/5/13 according to the letter here. I am not a local in Peterborough so I can't really remember the dates.
Anyway, I came back to my car and had a ticket. This ticket was a receipt in a parking ticked bag and was from Smart Parking LTD. After a fleeting look on here on my phone I took a picture of the sign in the car park which said the car park was being run by T&C parking but I have since lost that.
Fast forward a few months a 2 letters from Smart Parking I now have a letter from Debt Recovery Plus asking for £120! :O
What should I do now, carry on ignoring the letters? Ring up and pay?
It says if I do not pay they will 'recommend to the creditor's solicitor that court action should be taken to recover what you owe.'
Advice would be much appreciated.

Many thanks,

Bob

Just a letter that can be ignored at this time.
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p
  • Just ignore them . You will get a further letter

They are a "tame" PPC compared with some. You have missed POPLA chance, so it's now up to them whether to continue sending meaningless debt collector / solicitor letters and give up, or decide to try their luck in court.

So keep all your correspondence and come back if you get a Letter before Action/Claim or a set of court papers from Northampton court.

But stay tuned in to the forum - you say you intend to hang around - and get the drift of what wins at POPLA or court just in case.

What happened when you complained to the Asda Store Manager about this harassment? Or wrote assertively to Asda Executive relations at Head Office? As anyone would, of course, when horribly harassed by a scam PPC (agents for Asda) a firm whose sneaky name change and non-compliant behaviour caused them to be banned by the DVLA earlier this year and who are from a detested industry which is the antithesis of customer service?

The above thread is all the successes I have found in just 2 weeks of reading the threads here since my holiday, all showing fake PCNs cancelled by the retailer/owner. COMPLAIN NOW, and do not be fobbed off that 'Asda don't own the car park' (= a lie, they do) nor that 'it's nothing to do with us, appeal to Smart' (= no point at this late stage, and Smart are agents for Asda so it is Asda's fault). And ONLY speak to the Store Manager in person and go in smartly dressed and meaning business, armed with all the letters and your recent Asda receipts.

And as for DRP and Zenith drivel letters:

Hope the links help, easily found with a search of the forum. You got computerised threatograms and actually thought you might have to ring up and pay??!! :)

    Not really.
Why anyone needs more time than the random time limit set by the scammers is no business of said scammer.

I'll be spending more than 3 hours at one of these stores today. Should i be seeking prior permission from the scammers?
    I don't think so.
