If you have problems with your wins, you can message them on FB with a screenshot.
They honoured mine and sent me some jelly beans, which is better than nothing.
Good luck Euro - sewing sounds great. I've always wanted to get into it but then, never do! You'll be well on the way to sewing your party dress in no time! but, OUCH for your boss that must have hurt!!
Hope the rest of your day's are lovely - I MUST sort out this box of miscellaneous wins, things which have come and i've no idea where from! Charity shop I think - at least someone might benefit from a twilight T-shirt! :P xDecember Wins: £300 worth of board games, £500 Tesco Vouchers Best Win in 2023: £500 Tesco Vouchers0 -
euronorris wrote: »I have seen Superscrimpers before, yes! :rotfl:But that's not why I got one. I just love making my own things, but hand sewing takes an age and you can't quite get the same professional looking, uniformed stitch (well I can't anyway!). My boss has been taking dressmaking classes recently and has made some fab things and I have another friend who's very into it. She made me a patchwork quilt last year for my birthday. It's lovely! And a great alternative to a duvet in the summer months!
So far, I have made.....a lavender filled heart! lol I need to get a rotary cutter, cutting mat and giant ruler to help me cut the material so I can make my first cushion!:D
Speaking of my boss, she fell over in her porch at the weekend and broke her ankle in 3 places!!:eek: OUCH!!
I had the same prblem with the Jelly Belly game. Nothing arrived (nearly a week later) either, so I guess it definitely didn't go through!
Can we form an orderly queue and what's your speciality?
Wonder if it didn't confirm as I delayed filling in the form. (I had it in another window)
I had a hand-held sewing machine but never got on with it :eek:0 -

At the moment...lavender hearts. But I bought a book yesterday on machine sewing to teach myself the basic techniques. First was setting up the machine correctly (which I'd already managed to do after some help from my SIL), next was just getting used to sewing in a straight line. Next is hems and making the cushion. After that will be a detailed scarf, then it's an apron, then a bag. Bags, I want to do bags...and clothes. There's a really pretty little girls dress in the book, further on. I really want to be able to make that before summer for my youngest niece!
My Mum bought me a handheld sewing machine for Christmas last year. Never have been able to get that thing to work properly! Frustrated me more than anything else! I bought this with my money and vouchers: http://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/singer-sewing-machine-1408-white/585992-1000 I am loving it so far! Turns out I managed to choose the exact same machine that both my friend and my cousin have! It probably wouldn't suit the more experienced seamstresses, but for beginners like me, it's perfect (and fairly inexpensive).
Don't think the Jelly Belly win has anything to do with being delayed as I entered my details straight away last time and it still didn't work. *shrug* no idea.
OH just called to say a 'large' (think he over-quoted that! lol) parcel had arrived for me. Got him to open it and it was a competition win from this comp:

Hope you're all well, had great weekends and have been very lucky!
Was busy, out and about over the last few days and I bought myself a sewing machine with my birthday money and vouchers (for hobbycraft), so I have been playing around with that.
Still catching up on the thread, so congrats to all the winners and good luck to everyone!
xx
Ooh, I'm jealous! A sewing machine is top of my wishlist currently. I love making things but usually just hand stitch them and it takes ages.
I'd love to see pictures of anything you make xx
