I knew Bath was going downhill! :rotfl:0 -
I completed on the Thursday, went to pick the keys up from the EA and was told the sold sign would be down by the Monday at the latest. They kept to their word as when I came home from work it was gone. No chasing needed.Starting mortgage balance 22/04/2013 £71,250
Overpayments to date £410
Current mortgage balance £70,6500 -
Ours is here a week later. So we won't get into trouble removing it ourselves? Would love to break the thing to bits...First home purchased 09/08/2013
New job start date 24/03/2014
Life is slowly slotting into place :beer:0 -
When we completed & got the keys, our sold sign was already down. The previous owner had taken it down herself a few weeks before. :T
So all I did was ring the EA up & they told me to leave it near the gate & someone would collect it. Within 2 days they came & took it away.
I think 3 months later & your sign is still up is a bit much. I'd have pulled it down as soon as I'd got the keys.0 -
removed the sold sign on the house we bought, 10 minutes after getting the keys0

Honestly if they haven't taken it down after 3 months they are probably not going to - they obviously don't need it!
They need a deadline, if you want to be nice call them and say if they haven't taken it within a week you will get rid of it yourself. Personally I would take it down myself.0 -
Crikey, is this thread still here?
Isn't it about time someone took it down? :rotfl:0 -
Perhaps if it was winter , this thread wouldnt have even occured!Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0

Well I'm 5'1 and terrible at DIY and have no one that can help, as for hiring a handyman, why should I? Also the person who seems to think that I don't know it's not the estate agent that puts it up, did I really need to type 'how long does it take for the estate agent to phone a man with a ladder and some tools to get him to drive to my house and remove the sign?' Really?
Anyway, it's finally gone today!! They have finally listened and they have also lost a future customer.0 -
Can't you just remove it, leave it on the pavement, and then email/ring the EA and say "please take it away."0
