Need advice quickly please currys and tradostore

hello, I am very old to this site, I browse the forum but I have never written anything...I need some advice please.
Long story short, I went into Currys last week to buy a oven, hob and fridge freezer, I have saved and saved my money and I went in with cash to buy the goods I had seen on line. the hob wasnt in the sale but I loved it, the oven I wasnt sure and the fridge freezer was a def winner. I wanted to go in my local store in Bolton to see them in 'real life' and on arrival I got there late and I wasnt helped by anyone, then at 8pm I was asked to leave that it would be OK to come back on Friday to get the goods I had seen at that price.
Now, I went back and the fridge freezer had gone back up to 699.00 and I couldnt then afford it all.
So, manager first of all wouldnt believe that no one helped me not one mithering assistant came over to me to ask if there was anythign they could help me with!
Until he looked at the CCTV but he wouldnt give me the fridge freezer at the price I had seen it at.
So, he looked on his computer and we found a site which was a price comparisonn site and found a web site called 'TRADOSTORE' and on his approval said this looks good and I bought it on the site, this was last week and I am just warning ALL buyers please be very aware that when I then got emails they are in Italian or very bad English, one was saying shipped on the 12th August in Italian then another saying 15 or 16 august delivery dont work on a saturday. Alarm bells then rang when I then questioned their company and I havent had an email back and I have booked both yesterday and today off work and it still hasnt turned up and I havent had my fridge and to top it all I have sent a total of 36 emails up to now and all have been ignored. I can get my money back from the bank but in 14 days time but Curry's still wont see that they ignored me and I left the store with out being served and manager will probably deny that he recommended me to buy this fridge. I was stood there in the shop with a grand of my hard saved money and they would not price match it from 2 days after and they also admitted it, and also told me that the person that didnt help me got a verbal warning???? SORRY THIS IS LONG.

Sorry, is there a question in there somewhere?

As an aside, it really is not wise to make any purchase 'with a grand of my hard saved money' in cash.
As a long standing MSE reader, surely you have learned that using a credit card is always a good idea for those size of purchases?

As you have already found out elsewhere, Tradostore have only been trading a few days... from Spain.

How did you make your purchase from Tradostore?
    By credit card?
    By debit card?

Have a read of MSE's Chargeback article.

So, did you pay Currys at all? or did you buy yourself from Tradostore? As they only registered their site 2 weeks ago, I don't think it looks hopeful.

    How did you pay?

ETA: Looking at the prices on their website it is clearly a scam of some sort. Samsung Galaxy note 2 at 50% cheaper than other retailers (£100 cheaper than second hand on ebay)

Unfortunately prices go up as well as down, but what I don't really understand is why the manager at Currys would not only direct you to spend money elsewhere, but also look it up online for you?

Seems a strange one to me.

Did you not think to try and find an assistant to help you?

I usually find that wandering up to the till with my card out tends to get their attention.

And how exactly did you order from tradostore and more importantly how did you pay them?

If you wanted to buy three large items why didn't you go in earlier instead of so close to closing time?

If you chose what you wanted why didn't you go and ask for help instead of waiting until the shop was closed and then being asked to leave?

If you only had the cash to buy the items how did you pay on the website?

What do you want Currys to do about it? You missed the sale price and didn't want to pay the higher price and chose to buy online instead. The manager may have said the site looked good but it was up to you to research it. Especially when you got home and before placing the order

They accept bank transfer.. why do I get the feeling that this is how the OP paid?
  • Hi,
No I havent paid anything to Curry's I havent really given a good example here of me! When I went back in to see the manager to complain about the shocking customer service. he actually did not believe me that i wasnt helped until he checked the CCTV! He was also gutted because I told him how much I had to spend and his staff didnt help me or even approach me.
Anyway, when I went in to see if he would price match it to the sale price, as I was willing to buy the goods on the day I was asked to leave because they were closing and as I was leaving I was told that I could go back in to get it but they were closing, and when I went back in it had gone back up £200.00 and he wouldnt, saying his head office have refused. So it was him, that was on the website in the shop looking for another fridge freezer at a price around the 400.00 which was the price of the fridge freezer that was on sale in currys it was a hotpoint ff7190 and he was the one who found it by going through a price comparison site, whilst he was on his own computer in his own shop in Bolton, and said it looked good and that I should buy it!!! He said I am helping you because head office wont price match you, so I will help you find one!!!
He went through Idealo I think - but I am no good on computers and honestly when you are in a shop and the manager of a store is saying how sorry he was, and that Head office would not price match despite the fact that the member of staff admitted what I had said, they still wouldnt help me so the manager must have felt sorry for me and decided to help me. I have put a massive complaint into Currys head office and I have contacted my bank today and I am getting a full refund on Monday so I know I have no worries there. My question is really were can I go with this complaint because I am taking it up with currys now. Had they not told me that the fridge freezer would be ok to buy and then me go back and it had gone up in price and then them refusing to price match it and then just recommending sites that are italian surely its disgusting customer service!
Oh and just to add, my partner is a manager of a kitchen company and when we were in currys because no staff were helping, there was another couple who were struggling with an oven and my partner helped them! this is on CCTV too. And it was the managers night off that night and his staff obviously cannot be trusted.

Ok, so your only complaint is with the customer service.

In that case, unfortunately customer service is not a legal requirement and you are under the good will of the head office on what you will get. It sounds like the manager was just trying to help you, its a shame it has backfired now. In terms of the punishment Currys will give to their staff, they do not have to inform you.

If your other half is in the trade, is their no way he could have sourced it cheaper?

ha ha ha, wooah just wanted some advice not to be told off, let me explain, first of all, I had cash, because cash is king in my world as well as cards, also I paid on line becuse I also have my basic cards because i do not not have credit cards because I do not like debt I have a visa debit and that is it, I have also just sold my house that I was renting out that I bought when I was younger for 18 grand I am now 39 and sold it for 110 grand so I am not without cash, I have learnt over the last few months that when I say I am paying in cash that I get massive discounts and I mean massive, and isnt what this site is all about??? Helping each other through situations and without judging and saving money???? I have researched and trust me its been going on for months me looking at ovens my other half is sick of it because I am a very careful spender. I would NOT have missed out on the fridge freezer if incompetant staff would have approached me but when I went back, the manager said he was disgusted that I wasnt helped, he checked the CCTV and it was confirmed and when he spoke to head office even that it was literally 2 days later they couldnt price match?!!! Also I arrived at around 7.10pm not one advisor came to me and at 8 I was asked to leave, we have 4 children and I finish at 6 and got the kids together and took them to my parents, so does that explain everything, dont bother replying to posts if you cant be nice please.
