You can buy most of these things at B&Q (satellite coax)

and B&Q (connectors) but eBay is cheaper.

I guess it may be on a blocked MSE list somewhere for unknown reasons.

Is it easy to put the f connectors on the cable and do i need any special tools to do this, I'm really hoping it is as easy to do this as you have mentioned, knowing my luck I wiil blow the whole system if I attempt this

Yes it is very easy, in fact the "F" connector is merely a shell, since it utilises the core of the cable as its pin. The most important thing is not to allow any shorting between the outer braid and the inner core, even one loose strand can cause damage!

The equipment must be unplugged from the mains whilst installing the plugs at both ends.

Edit See this page for more details satcure dot co dot uk/tech/fconn.htm

As I mentioned earlier, I think you will need to switch off the LNB power output on the 2nd digibox, perhaps someone else could confirm this.

It's important to buy the "F" plugs that exactly match the cable, otherwise they'll be too loose or else so tight that they chew up the cable when you fit them. Take a look at the bottom of this page for fitting instructions:

    No .. just leave it.

They act as 2 individual installations.;)

. You will need a Freesat viewing card if you don't have one, believe this is £20 from Sky.

Not true, you only need a card to get Channel 4 .. Ch 5's ( all 3 of them ) and Sky 3, all other channels that are free to air, don't need a card.

An ex subsciption card acts as a Freesat Card as well.
