she found it in the street0

If she found it she should have handed it in somewhere or tried to contact the owner not throw the sim away and keep the phone. That is like stealing.
The owner will probably block the phone totally anyway.Offical MSE Fantasy League Member:beer:0 -

she is a kid who found a phone, not all kids think when they find such a good find,
she has had the lecture from me, end of, jesus christ, i dont need a !!!!!!! lecture!!0 -
omg!!! thats disgusting. If you find a phone you go into the phone book and phone 'mum' or 'home' etc to return it to the owner.
Your daughter will be lucky if the phone stays active for much longer. as this phone is fairly new the owners details will be registered on the phones barcode and imei (sp?) number. this will completely lock the handset if she phone virgin. deeming it USELESS.
i would recomend taking it to the nearest plice station on monday.0 -

now you should it take it to the police station. if you try to unlock it you will only cause yourselves trouble because you are basically stealing.
it will get blocked by virgin anyway when the owner realises its been lost.0
