Santander removing free travel insurance from my a/c - allowed to do this?

I signed up to my a/c and as part of it there's free travel insurance.
Now I've got a letter from them saying the free travel insurance element is being removed.
Only "offer" to keep this is to sign up to their paid a/c for £2 a month.
Is this allowed? Why are they allowed to change the agreement?
Thanks,
Hobbin.

Here's the info:

"Further changes are also taking place from September 30 next year, when customers on its Premier and Premier Direct current accounts will lose out on free travel insurance, as the perk will be removed and the current accounts changed to the Everyday account".0 -

Thanks, I opened my a/c years ago though. Those T&Cs are for July 2013..? But if my conditions are the same, then they can just change/removed conditions. Bit !!!! that eh?0 -

You do not get free travel insurance with the 123 a/c.

That notice period gives you the right to close the account and go elsewhere.0 -
you can make a complaint but it will be declined as they have acted within the t&c of your account.
the nationwide flex account has free travel insurance.0 -
Think about it... if they WEREN'T allowed to do this and you somehow got it overruled, it would logically mean they would have to provide you with free travel insurance forever.urs sinserly,

£2 a month for travel insurance seems pretty good to me o.0
No wonder they're removing it...must cost them a fortune.0 -
Just closed my account. Going to halifax for the £5 per month. Should cover my travel insurance nicely
Plus a free £1000 -
Same thing with Santander. Plus 50 account included travel and health insurance plus CCP for £12 per month. To be honest not really worth it now interest rates have dropped so will be changing to the 123 account which gives far more interest up to £20,000.0
