  • Can anyone direct me to a website/thread that will give me the ID info on a post box.
I know i can get the address of a post box but I need the id to enter the info.

I know I've seen it on here somewhere, also the frustrating thing is I found the info before on-line, over a week ago but even looking back on my computers history I can't find it.

You can search on manage my postbox tab, register a new posting method, select postbox next, click on search for post box, enter name of street and it will show you all the post boxes in your area with that street name. Pick the one that matches. HTH

    I can't promise it's accurate but...

Thanks for the replies and info. Ironically the next nearest postbox to my village is on the way to town and is not on the list that Pumpkinpie gave, will have to try and get info tomorrow when I pass it, that's if I can get through the floods, and if it hasn't been knocked over/blown up by crowscarers!
I will try aninymoose's method , but not sure if it gives the id number which they seem to want. Perhaps I'm trying too hard to please, being new to the survey.

Yes! Aninymoose, that worked perfectly. Because the first question is, what's the i.d. number of the post box, I'd panicked and tried to find it another way instead of using their search for an address method

If you mean the postbox number.
Then it will always be the postbox postcode area plus an identifier number.
  • Yes, Custardy, I knew that from getting the number from my local postbox, however I had to post in the box outside the main P.O. in town, the 2 boxes on their wall didn't have a tablet, it had been moved up on the wall about 7 ft up, no specs on so couldn't see it, luckily there were about 6 workmen relaying the block pavement next to it so I asked them if they could read the id no. after a couple of arguments about the number, they managed to get it.
Then I could register the postbox for the first time when I got home as I had the number.
If I had realised I didn't need it and could have searched by address which then would have supplied the number it would have saved me time etc.
My hubby was sat in the car when I dashed over to post and couldn't understand why i was suddenly surrounded by 4 burly workman staring up at a blank wall!:rotfl:
  • Data entry for a franked/metered large letter: What is 1 supposed to put when asked about the postage and whether it was:
    • "first class / 95p",
    • "second class / 74p", or
    • "other value"

The item was posted yesterday and arrived today, so it seems like it was first class, but it doesn't actually say so on the franked/metered/whatever bit.
  • I have been rested since December last year. It took them a while to stop the post so eventually finished in January this year.
I have recently recieved a non R number magazine but when I log in it is highlighted red for me to take action yet no details come up except the usual stuff.
As I have been rested for so long and have had no monthly incentives etc why all of a sudden do I receive this ?
    I am a little puzzled.

Received my posting pack for the first week of December today. One of the items is a first class jiffy bag, and they've actually folded the wodge of papers and put them inside the cardboard, as was so hotly debated on here a few weeks ago. I wonder if this will become standard practice now, or if the person preparing this pack was just a little rushed (the fold is rather lopsided, as a lady in Fife will see!)

I also received my 2016 diary and a pack of Christmas stamps. Is this separate to the usual pack of 1st and pack of Large stamps we get, or should I have received a pack of Large stamps too?
