I just wish that Royal Mail supplied the same information to TNS as actually appears on the boxes.

I've reported a difference which still hasn't been corrected - either by the TNS database recognising the time on the box or the box being updated with time from the supposed RM database.

There isnt really an issue with RM having the data to provide.
RM has a collections database that is used daily to monitor collection performance and collection scans.
Seems strange TNS dont have access to the same data.
  • Hi, just joined the survey.

I live in a village with a postbox but the nearest General Post Office is 8 miles away.
I only go into town at the most 3 times a week, and am struggling to post the Jiffy bag on a certain day when I am not going in.
I know it says on the info given that you can just post the following week on the same day, but after ringing the helpline with another query, I mentioned this and was told I can just post it on another day as long as I log it.
So if the item was due to be posted on Friday, could I post it the day before or after?
Friday is the only day I would not be going into town.

Friday is the only day I would not be going into town.

The FAQ on this is to post on the corresponding day the following week,I was under the assumption that the reason you are asked to post on a certain day is so that the flow of post can be monitored and variances seen in the results that are fed back to RM.

However I would also assume that if you have spoken to someone on the helpline and they have suggested that its fine to post another day then I would assume they know best!

Perhaps to avoid any miscommunication you could send the helpline an email just to reconfirm what they have suggested is correct...then at least if there is a query later down the line you have something in writing from them rather than just perhaps a conversation in passing on the phone.

from what you are saying there seems to be some movement in posting days as long as you log the details of when you actually post the item.
It may well be that because of the distance involved for you to travel to a post office they would rather be able to monitor that box on whatever day suits you rather than you just posting in your local postbox all the time.

    Thanks for your reply,
Fact 35 and 36 on the survey do actually confirm what I was told over the phone.
Obviously I had not read the fact list properly:(

    Note to self: Concentrate!
  • I've just had the email inviting me back onto the panel after my resting period. Will get my first posting pack just after Christmas. :)

I've now finished on the main survey for a few months, glad not to be doing it over the Christmas period. I'm already signed up for a Correctly Delivered survey in early December and doing the Unaddressed Mail survey continuously so it will be nice to have a break from having to post items. This is the end of my third year on the survey, hopefully I'll be doing it again next Spring :)

You've just reminded me to check, which I don't often do when I'm resting, and there's a correctly delivered invite sat ready and waiting. So thanks for that.:)

Hope you have checked the expiry dates on these, as if they expire you lose the value!
