I am training and need some help please. For the last two weeks I have received the usual Jiffy bag and 1st class letter to post. Accompanying the the pack included two sheets of paper each with an R number and according to the instructions I assumed I had to enter these as received items as well. e.g..

    R0042
    Large Brown
    Printed address label
    Stamped
    1st 95p

And for the 1st class item another R number.

However today received another posting pack but this time no accompanying
sheets. Am I right in assuming there is nothing to record as received on this occasion but just record when posted etc.

    Sorry really confused.

I have now found my answer and they do need to be logged.

    Q. I have received my first 2 things to send (small white envelope and jiffy bag) and have also received the 2 cardboard SMARTs to put in each. The SMARTs each came with an R number.

    A. (Do you mean you received each of these separately? If so, those will be items of mail which you record as receipts (which I think you have now done).

    Q. Do I need to log these 2 R numbers online? (I thought I read somewhere that I didn't need to do this with the training SMARTs

A.That would be if you received them in your pack of things to be posted (like stamped envelopes and pieces of paper to affix the R number labels to) but these sound as though they reached you as test receipt items)

    unquote

I think why I got confused was because I was advised anything from TNS does not need to be logged. However it appears then if you receive test smarts with an R number and are sent separate from the posting pack need to be logged.

The R number & the fact an item is received through the post as an individual item is the key thing. (during training TNS are the ones sending the test items out for you to learn what you need to do with them for when you are on the live panel)

So if you receive something (DL envelope, A5 size envelope, jiffy bag, DVD box, Cube, medium box) individually through the post with a piece of paper that has an R number on then it needs logging, some of these items you receive will have SMARTS in, some won't. When you do have a SMART in an individual item it needs recording on the portal (received an item/enter r number/did you receive a SMART/yes/enter SMART reference code)
While training you get test SMARTS that are just a square of card that all have the same code, when you are on the live panel SMARTS are foam in a plastic wrapper (do not remove wrapper) with a label on the outside each of which has a different code on each SMART to differentiate.

The posting packs you get from TNS (big plastic envelope with sheet of sticky labels of various addresses and r numbers, multiple envelopes/boxes, posting detail sheet which reflects the posting schedule on the portal) these don't need logging but need constructing in line with the posting detail sheet into posting items to post on the prescribed day/time slot.

TNS may also send out an envelope with extra SMARTS in ready for future postings where you may not have enough (no R number included) these don't need logging

    Hope that makes sense

I have just arrived home and received a something for you card. However the name on the card is not anyone I know but the address is my address.

My question is do TNS send test items out with a false name to ones address.

    thanks

I've received a jiffy today and when I entered the R number I got

"This item has already been processed"

...and just says go back and try re-entering the R number.

I've never come across this before, and the postcode on the info sticker is not mine. The address on the front of the jiffy is mine though.

Has this happened to anyone else, what should I do?

I have not done this before and have just been accepted on a correctly delivered survey to start on 5th Oct but have not been given any more instructions. Do I have to remember to log on at that time or will I be emailed with further instructions nearer the time?

You will be emailed closer to the time, usually the week before and you will be able to view on the daily tasks schedule

It happened to me once. I e-mailed them the details giving the R number and postcode from the info sticker and they sorted it out. I guess someone has mixed up their SMARTs and has sent the wrong one to you
