Sorry but I do not understand where you are trying to enter the R numbers of items that you are sending.
I only enter R numbers for items that I receive.
I do not enter details of the items which I receive in the posting pack.
You do not need to enter details of items from your posting pack, the receiving panellist does that

I'm in my fourth week of training. Last week for the first time I was given four items to post to two different names, same address. I could enter the details for the two items for Mrs S, who I had previously been sending to, but for the new name Mr H, it wouldn't allow me to enter the R numbers, saying 'There was not a valid panellist item for this Receiver Item Number. Please press retry to re-enter the Receiver Item Number.'

I rang TNS up and the lady I spoke to tried to enter the numbers for me but got the same message, so told me to just send the SMARTs back to them.

Today I received a pack with two items to send to Mr H. Again when I tried to enter the R numbers I got the same message as above. I tried ringing TNS all afternoon, but just kept getting the message that there was no-one available to take my call.

Has anyone ever seen this message before and have any idea what it means? To be honest I just feel like telling them to take a flying leap as their disorganisation causes so much more work and time wasted for me that a few stamps doesn't cover the aggro.

You do not enter the R number for items you are sending. Only the Smart letters get noted, either you confirm that you have entered the one allocated or enter your own selection.

You enter the R number for items that you receive.

I don't understand how you are doing two correctly but not the other two.

The helpline is only open until 1 pm

You shouldn't have any R numbers to enter when you're on training. All R numbers that you have to enter are on items you receive from other panelists or the magazines you receive etc.

Edit: Oops sorry, the other replies from other people hadn't loaded until I posted this.

Apologies if this is asked regularly, but having had a quick trawl I can't find the answer. I applied to join around Christmas or New Year and was told there were vacancies in my area and I was suitable to join. I haven't heard anything since. Is it normal to wait this long to hear what happens next, or should I reapply?
    Better is good enough.

My mother has been waiting for over two years. She lives a mile away from me and I'm regularly reinstated early. Wouldn't hurt to send a reminder, just don't hold your breath.

Interesting. I just put the postcode into the questionnaire and it told me immediately that they're not recruiting in my area. Hey ho. I'll trying again in a few months time. Many thanks Elsien for replying so quickly.

After I applied to join, the first e-mail I had on 6/11/2014 from them said this:

"Welcome to the Royal Mail Survey.

We have now registered your details to our live posting panel and you will receive your first Sender Pack in the week commencing 08/12/2014

You will receive an email to notify when your first pack is being prepared and despatched."

So I got my welcome pack 4 weeks after receiving the first e-mail about joining the panel.

Or do you mean that you got the "you're suitable and there are vacancies in your area" message on the website after filling out the questionnaire about joining? I had to wait months before I finally got the first e-mail asking me to join.

I have just received the Christmas stamp pack with my first "active" posting schedule as I had been resting for the last 6 months.
