Thanks sheramber, I hadn't seen that. I'll have to give RM a ring on Monday and find out where the next nearest 'later collection' box is, the notice does refer to another box but I know that it's out of my postcode area. Its unfortunate that I'm very close to the boundary.2016: No Clutter to Be Seen 805/2016

I wasn't going to post out of my postcode. Hence me saying that I need to phone RM and find out about another 'later collection' box.2016: No Clutter to Be Seen 805/2016

Recently i have been getting more and more letters that they want me to post at the post office post box as opposed to my nearest post box. Now although the PO isn't miles away it is approx an extra mile detour to get to it, now to do this couple of times a week, price of petrol blah blah blah it is becoming a bit of a hassle.
Just wondering if I really need to post from there or can I just stick it in my usual post box? Don't want to get "fired" but could do without the extra travelling and time.Massive thanks to all who contribute on the MSE forums, especially on grabbit and competition boards0 -
17lbp,
I emailed them with a similar query and was advised to use a post box if it was more convenient and the item could fit in the post box
Probably worth emailing them to make sure they've recorded the permission given0 -

First and formost the day that you post is the most important, followed by where you post and what time.
Technically as long as you post on the correct day the most important measurment is being met.
The grey area comes in when you post at a different location to where stated..ie post box instead of post office etc...
It is important to the panel as a whole that items are posted in a mixture of boxes and as such it helps to give a clearer view of if items are being collected by royal mail across the board.
In posting at different points other than specified you might be opening up yourself to queries from the panel but it is likely to go largely unnoticed unless your box where you are posting is one that only gets opened at very odd times.
The panel isnt out to cause you problems and probably its not worth the extra petrol to go out of your way to post items, but the more places and boxes that are covered as a whole by all the panelists the better statistics can be obtained by the panel organisers.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

the point of being on the panel is to see if post is being collected at the various post box / post offices in your postcode area before last collection ( or in a few cases up here not being collected till next morning )
they wont get a true picture of royal mail if you are only going to post in the same or nearest post box
if it says post office ...i also means you can post in letterbox outside if they have one ..unless it is the cube box or larger juffy bag0 -
my posting pack for the first wek in December has revertd to 'before last collection'.0

Have just started doing the unaddressed mail survey, and unable to check as the training section seems to be down, due to maintenance.
Can anyone please confirm that I include charity envelopes which come through the door, not delivered by Royal Mail?
Thank you0 -

[MaShadow can't be answering your question.]
The unaddressed survey involves you counting all the pieces of information received which are not individually addressed to your household (ie they don't include your house number and street) - that would include a charity envelope, as it would local free newspapers (if any are still delivered to homes?), estate agent flyers, taxi company cards, etc.
It doesn't matter whether it is the RM postie who puts it through your letterbox or if it's the local take-away worker delivering his pizza menus or anyone else.0
