So looks as though it isn't just this survey that has different rules but also the actual PO,s!!

New hunt on now to find a "friendly" assistant who will let me use my stamps.

    Hi all,

Another simple question I'm afraid. I'm in week 3 of training and one of the items I received last week didn't contain the SMART it was supposed to. I double-checked the envelope when prompted by the system but no SMART.

At the time I thought it might be a test to see if I was paying attention, but now I don't have a SMART to put in my package to post tomorrow. I was hoping one might arrive today but it hasn't.

Any ideas? Do I post the item without the SMART or wait and see if I get one and post it next Tuesday?

Thanks in advance for any help :)

I think some assistants are 'jobsworth's', and go by the book.

Others are a little more flexible ...

The trouble is that our local PO is in a village, and there are only about 3 different assistants serving at different times and days.

Not going to be easy ...

That's interesting - how did they produce the bar code/reference for the special delivery?

As this had come up, I have just phoned RM to be told that for both recorded and special delivery you need to pay cash so that a bar code label for your receipt and for the envelope can be printed. Also told it is not possible to produce this any other way!!

Well I can see the problem.(I know little of PO systems)
The system is likely to need a payment to generate the receipt with barcode/postcode check etc
The ones taking stamps but producing a receipt are likely putting the sale through as cash but balancing out the till with (possible)stamp sales cash through the day.
Being short of cash but 'up' on stamps at days end isnt really an ideal accounting position to be in.

You need to keep the item until next week. If you look under faq on the website you will find this question answered there.

I have finished my first 6 months on the panel. However have been asked to join another unadressed mail survey. Do resting members still get entered in to the prize draw? Wonder how long i will be resting ?? Questions questions:question:

I may be tempting fate by saying it, but so far my resting periods have been closer to 2 months than 6. I think last time the email telling me I was back on the panel came the week after the one turfing me off it. Whereas my mother who lives 5 minutes away was accepted onto the panel but has been permanently resting for about 2 years. So to answer your question as to how long, your guess is probably as good as anyone's.

    Thank you,

I will have another look at the FAQ. I don't think I look carefully when in a hurry!

  • Hi
I sent a parcel via signed for last week and paid for all of it using my incentive stamps. The assistant put the details onto the system and my receipt was printed out saying:

    'Pre-paid Amount -£9.10'
    'Total Cost of Services £0.00'

So they are definitely able to do it. Maybe they are not all properly trained on the system, might vary from place to place. Really ought to be consistent one way or the other though! :)

    Hi Guys,

Newbie here, and I have a quick question of you pros!

I signed up for this Royal Mail thing last week and haven't had any email confirmation etc.

Does it take them a while to get back to you or should I have received an email by now?

Thanks in advance and apologise if this has been asked before!
