you mean jelly bean and ice cream sandwich? they are just the newest versions of android (goes in A-Z order, next version is called key lime pie)
what phone are you using just now and what version of android is installed?0 -
Yes, if the hardware manufacturer supports and provides such an update for that particular model.
Actual implementation can be haphazard though. Manufacturers have little incentive to provide upgrades for older or obsolete models-they are in the business of selling new handsets. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

Thinking of getting the entry level Hauwei Y300
We have 2 of the phones and so far have not had a notification to update to the latest version 4.2. something.
PS The phone is great, £59.95 upgrade from Carphone warehouse, go for it. It comes unlocked from there.
PPS I have a tablet which has been updated to 4.2 and find there is not much difference.0 -

My tablet was recently updated to 4.2.It does seem to perform better with fewer crashes but on the downside the battery doesn't seem to last as long between charges.
The latest is not always the best.My Ascend G300 was originally on ginger bread and I updated to JB 4.1 soon after I bought it and that is very buggy0 -

My experia Z had an update last week, I'd say the battery lasts longer between charges and that's without stamina mode on.0 -
Nope. Android 1.5 was the first to get a dessert name; "Cupcake"
Ooh, get Mr Pedantic .
In fact the first dessert name was actually 1.1 and it was "Petit Four".
There were also names pre version 1.0, but whilst they were silly names, there weren't desserts, hence from day one Google gave "silly names" to releases.Android milestone builds (with Astro Boy and Bender)
