Drivers are a software issue. If there is no hardware issue with the old PC then a simple OS reinstall or Factory Restore will solve the problem in about an hour or so. Whoever quoted you £250 is having a laugh.
Bottom line-you didn't need a new PC and have been conned. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Perhaps you could also think before buying these small form factor PCs.
Unless space is really at a premium, you should really consider a standard tower.0 -
The crucial thing first here is that the new PC is only 3 weeks old & it doesn't sound fit for purpose as it's running so slow. You should return it & request your money back, then maybe follow the recommendations on here about fixing your old PC or if you decide still to buy another new one, make sure you try it out 1st before purchasing. Make sure it's got at least 4gb of ram as well.0

An that would help how? A standard Tower is great if you want to upgrade or replace components, but the OP doesn't sound (with all due respect) like she is about to start re-building her PC.0 -
NiftyDigits. As I said before I am not clued up on all this technology.
A pc is a pc . Acer are picking this pc up on Monday to repair.0 -

As I told you before ACER Direct are not ACER.
Those small form factor PCs will be more difficult for you to service. We have already advised you to return it for a refund.
If you are going to insist, think about getting a ACER Advantage Extended warranty, perhaps via eBay or Amazon.
For the third time, the retailer from which you purchased is not ACER and they won't necessarily even direct you towards an ACER extended warranty, but rather their in-house version.0 -
NiftyDigits. I don't know why you are being so rude.
Point 1- I know Acer Direct is not Acer , I heard you the first time.
Point 2- I know people have advised me to return it for a refund. I have asked for a refund but they have said it has to go to Acer for repair, that is Acer not Acer direct.
Point 3 - if I am going to insist on what exactly.
Point 1 again. I know the retailer that I purchased the machine from is
Not Acer.
And as I said Acer ( not acer direct are picking it up on Monday )0
