I was thinking 5 viewings was too many. But as the agent has not provided measurements, it is entirely justified to go again and take your own. As buyer, I would be quite irritated at a seller whose agent did not provide measurements if they then started getting annoyed at the buyer coming round for measurements.

As for asking the agent or the vendor, well, I would only accept the measurements on the details, or do my own.

I was going to say this. The agent/vendor have omitted essential details.

Personally, it wouldn't bother me that a buyer came to view multiple times - it obviously depends entirely how uptight the OP's vendor is.

My buyers have been 3 times , by the way

As buyers we saw the property once, put in an offer and then went back to see it again (to measure). We then had a damp guy come to the house who then proceeded to drill holes everywhere (i know) and then we went back with a builder for a quote. So we are up to four!

I say for the amount of financial commitment you put in 5 times is probably the max viewings really. It gets a bit silly after that.

I agree that the EA was extremely remiss in not putting the measurements on the listing, but even so if the OP was that concerned about the size of the rooms I would have thought they would have measured on one of the earlier viewings

We have some very large antique pieces of furniture - pieces we would not be prepared to part with at any cost, however wonderful the property was (in fact one cabinet is too tall for our current Georgian house, so we are actually raising the ceiling in the nasty 1980s extension to accommodate it. If this hadn't been possible we wouldn't have bought this house, lol!) - so for us room sizes are paramount when we are buying a new house.

For that reason we double check measurements and work through the floorplans checking everything will fit - on our first viewing, before an offer is to be made......I really struggle to see why something that appears to be so important to the OP would be left till this late in the proceedings!

The people that purchased our last house viewed five times - once just them plus new baby, second time with their teenage kids, third to check out local schools and measure some stuff at the same time (they were moving from a different area), fourth to bring parents who lived overseas and had come home specially to see the new house and fifth time to talk through a couple of minor survey issues. They offered after the first viewing, btw.

They also insisted on exchanging email addys and mobile numbers and had a habit of texting us to ask for specific details - such as height of ceiling pendants and amount of space in certain cupboards - I kid you not! I have to say though that despite being a PITA, they did take us out to dinner to celebrate when we exchanged

If it was me selling I'd be cheesed off - as we ourselves were - but would comply as I wouldn't want to upset my buyer

5 is pushing things, but in the current market anyone outside London would be silly not to indulge a buyer and bite their tongue.
