If you put a mobile number down on the form they'll text when they recieve them. As long as they got them before the deadline your DLA will continue. You could ring them as that's the only other way you'll know for sure if they recieved them.
  • Hi all, I recently had the DLA to pip letter just before this late Christmas so called them up as stated, was told would have form how your disability affects you, received it and filled it out and sent back promptly, the DWP has now passed it on to capita who does the assessments in my area on the 17th January and not heard anything since, is this usual? I'm just wondering if I will need a face to face assessment as it said in letter they would write again if I had to, should I be calling capita with it being a month later.

That's almost 4 weeks which is nothing. Most people are called for a face 2 face assessment, so i would do some research to prepare yourself for this. I'm sure you'll hear from them soon. It will also depend on the backlog in your area. Good luck.

I have my assessment on Friday 07/07/2017 the first 2 appointments were cancelled with no explanation as to why! I made the claim in January 2017! It's took 7 months to even get an assessment appt! I'm very nervous! 😩😢

    Hi,
It would have been better for you to have started your own thread for advice instead o posting at the end of something that is a year old.

They very often cancel appointments without any reasons why. They'll be watching you from the minute you arrive to the minute you leave. They'll ask you questions based on what you wrote on your PIP2 form. Don't just answer with a yes or no explain in as much detail as you can. Did you send in evidence to support your claim? If did you and can take more with you then that's good. Take someone with you if possible. They'll ask a couple of very simple maths questions (adding or subtracting) they may also ask you to spell a word back words (they did with me) If you have mobility problems then they'll ask you to do a few things relating to that, for EG lift your leg as far as you can, bend down, put your arms up, arms behind your back. If there's something you can't do then tell them and explain why. The assessment will most probably last about 40 mins to 1 hour (less sometimes) Good luck. A few days after the assessment you can ring and ask for a copy of the assessment report. The decision maker will most likely go with what's said on the report so it will give you some idea on the decision. Hope this helps.
