I would want to know why it hasn't been used much in the last six years.0

personally I would think that is too low mileage, that comes in at just over 1100/year which is not enough to keep everything ticking over nicely. Mind you the 1.3 07 are good cars but I wouldn't go for it at that price.0

Probably owned by an old person who used it to the shops and back. An elderly relative has an 06 car which only has 16000 miles on but is main dealer serviced every year.0

this is my thinking too the car is at main dealer now not been prepped yet but looks in showroom condition dealership closing when I got there so going back in the am looked on autotrader surprised to see how many low mileage older cars are about normally I would buy high mileage cheaper cars but fancy treating myself hope with warranty that its a good buy just a little wary0 -

I echo this ^^
Problem with low mileage isn't just the low mileage itself, it's the fact that often the owner feels they don't need to have the vehicle serviced.
You may well be shown an apparently genuine FSH, but these days dealers have no problem just stamping away at the log book, anything to sell the car.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

My grandma has a 2009 registered Nissan Note auto.
I recently borrowed it and noticed it was displaying 3,400 miles. I asked her when it was last serviced as it felt a bit lumpy...
"Never, it doesn't need one yet" was the answer. Needless to say it was put straight in for a service.0 -
Avoid very low mileage cars. They can have hosts of problems from lack of proper use and servicing AND you've paid over the odds believing you've got a better car for your money.
£6k bought me an Impreza wagon with the prodrive performance pack last year. only 50k on it. Now THAT was a lot of car for £6k......0 -
If a car has been correctly serviced - and you have the proof in invoices (not just a stamped up service book) it can be really good value.
First look at the steering when and gear stick - if they are worn you might need to question if the mileage is correct.
Make sure that you take it for a test drive, on all sorts of roads and listen for knocks etc.
Once its warmed up, for a few miles put your foot down (where legal), as if a car has been driven at low revs for all its life it could be that the engine has acquired carbon deposits.
If unsure walk, there are plenty of other cars out there to buy!0
