Miami would be my option in the US if you dont want to do west coast.
Of course you could do South Africa too - their summer and all that.
NYC is one of those places that you don't need to spend alot of money to get to IYKWIM - the routes are so competitive one airline has a sales on at some point.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE NYC, but its not cheap, there isn't great shopping if thats what you do and in November its going to be chilly...
Don't mind the cold. Would actually like to do some decent outlet shopping.....where would you suggest?0 -

Thanks, was only looking for a few days away, have had a couple of long trips this year.0 -

Miami/Orlando has plenty of shopping, as does Las Vegas.
LA isn't bad from what I've read (im going in October) but you've done that before now...
NYC has two outlet malls, a smaller Jersey Gardens location next to Newark Airport and then there is a premium outlet upstate (not been to that one, could never justify giving up the time to travel there and back..).0 -

I'd pick Toronto and then go down to Nigara and for outlet shopping cross over to Buffalo.0

If you do go to NYC, just remembered, there is Century21 you could go to, its down near Ground Zero...
A bit of a scrum, but the other half loved the stuff they had...0 -
If you can use it for an open jaw, fly to NY, take the train to Buffalo, taxi to Niagara, bus to Toronto, and fly back from there. The train journey up the Hudson Valley is beautiful at any time of year.0

San Diego is beautiful. Bilboa Park and zoo, historical old town, whale watching tours, day trip to Mexico, up the coast to La Jolla or day trip to LA.. We had 6 nights there a few years ago and there is lots to do.0

Some great suggestions. I hadn't thought of splitting each leg. Really do want to keep it short though.....Miami would be interesting, we've only flitted in and out of Florida with our son for theme park holidays! Speaking to the OH, it's definitely shopping at the top of that list!0

in that case I would seriously consider Orlando...Outlet mall city0
