Feminax - Dont Be Conned - Its Now Just Co-codamol

As a user of Feminax (period pain and cramp reliever) for many years, I was most upset when my life-saver at time of need seemed to have stopped working.
On closer examination and comparison of two boxes, I noted the manufacturer had changed from ROCHE to BAYER and the pack now said 'Relief from Period Pain' instead of 'Relief from Period Pain and Cramps'. The ingredient list showed Hyoscine (the anti-cramping agent) had been removed! I was most aggrieved and contacted BAYER to complain. They advised they had reviewed the product and decided the Hyoscine was not needed.
So basically what I'm letting all the ladies out there know is - since Feminax was bought out it is now just paracetamol and codeine at an over inflated price - £3.59, when you can buy generic co-codamol for less than half that.
BAYER are taking advantage of the fact Feminax was an established, effective product and that women will keep buying it. Some, like myself, will find it doesn't work, others will keep paying them way over the odds for basic paracetamol and codeine.
PLEASE STOP!! If we all realise and stop buying it, they might be forced to put the Hyoscine back and save my suffering

Really? Feminax was a life saver for me every month years ago. I couldn't have got through without it. I think it's disgusting that it has been changed.Life is like a box of chocolates, ya never know what yer gonna get0

The darn cheek of it  Manufacturers of all kinds of products assume no one is going to sit up and notice (like you did) when they change formulations.
Thankfully, I can just take generic painkillers when i get period cramps. But, I will pass the word on and let anyone I know who is buying Feminax not to bother, as it's now a rip-off.
Cheers :T

Would a prescription pain killer be better now that you need 2 OTCs to do the job? The prescription cost is less than the combined cost of the OTCs and you would probably get more pills for the money.
I used to get one on prescription which worked for me, but don't know what the formulation was. It would definitely be worth a word with the pharmacist to check though, and if there is one, a quick trip off to GP for a script.0 -

When I came out of hospital with my DS having had a CS the GP gave me a script for 1000 paracetomol, even though I wasn't having any pain "just in case". He's 7 now, and we still haven't run out!0

please take advice from your GP or pharmacist before taking any medication
Co-codamol comes in various different strengths
