Suitable thank you for parrot sitting?

Me and ds are off on hols next Friday (woohoo!) for ten nights and a dear friend will be looking after our parrot,at her own house, while we're away.Naturally, she deserves something to thank her for this but I'm not sure what would be suitable as a bottle of her favourite drink wouldn't really be much considering the changes she'll need to make in her home and things she'll need to do while looking after her.

Any ideas?

A lovely plant for her garden. Magazine subscription.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

How about a meal in a nice restaurant, so you can catch up after about the hols and pay for the evening?

I wish I could, but with no respite or sitters available for ds (severe autistic) I haven't been able to go anywhere or do anything for a year lol :(

Flowers delivered on the morning you return (or at least before you go and pick the bird up)
  • I've always gone for a big box of chocolates from Thorntons and a nice bottle of wine. I think that would suffice. No need to go over the top, I'm sure she will see the thought behind any gift :)

    A Monty python video?
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.
