Whilst I sympathise somewhat I can't understand why people don't check a map before booking their holiday. I know you didn't know you would be placed next to the railway, but Haven are receptive to people asking for specific areas or being placed away from certain areas for safety reasons.

Haven seem to like these sort of sites - Hafan Y Mor has a railway line going right through the middle of the park!

Scars can take months to fade, and very often do unless they were deep, which I very much doubt from this, unless he needed stitches and it was deep. You say a scratch, so unlikely.

Your time to put your foot down was that first day. Terms or not. That was your chance as the office was closed the previous day.

By staying you accepted it. You should've put your foot down and left, if it were that bad. As it stands now, a little discount off future holidays is the best you could expect.

Personal injury is negligible as no hospital treatment was needed by the sounds of it, he could've done it on a bramble. As if it were just a scratch, then chances are it could've been anywhere with no medical treatment or future incapacity related to it. No claim, really.

Unless you're referring to a handy copy of Kemp and Kemps Quantum of Damages, or a similar work, I'm not sure how you're determining this is 'negligible' and 'no claim'. OP would be better served getting profesional advice on this.

they are breaking the law then

More likely the person OP spoke to was unaware of accident book or being economical with the truth.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

OP to return to ThumbRemote's question, what exactly are you seeking from Haven?

It's a SCRATCH which needed no treatment.

I'm starting to see now why you have a reputation on these boards. You tend to pick people out to moan and whine at don't you?

OP claims it's left a scar. We don't have medical details, and don't know enough to say. You've guessed it's too minimal to be due any compensation. I've simply pointed out that this is a guess based on little knowledge - of both the injury and of the compensation levels due for various types of injury. As such the OP is better off getting proper advice.

I don't pick anyone out. I engaged with the contents of your post, and didn't moan or whine at you.

But based on the fact that the OP stated originally (before being picked up on it) that the railway was LESS than 4 ft away from the caravan, I'd not take anything else as necessarily factual (by this I mean the 'scar' from a scratch and the 1 cm gap around the door).

As the OP stated they have photos and are asking for advice on here, why not post those pictures so people can give an informed judgement about the 'scar' and the door.

Unless someone on here has detailed knowledge of personal injury claims then even a photo wouldn't be much use.

I quite like the sound of trains. Much nicer than music blaring, people shouting, dogs barking, kids screaming and all the other noise you get at camping sites <shudder>
