    This, exactly.

As I said, bailiffs are scum. And as for this pathetic attempt at justification:

"Yes absolutely every balliff is scum...especially the ones who are only working to put food on their tables and shoes on their children's feet. "

Don't suppose you stopped to consider that you could apply this justification to any job? So if I mug someone at knife-point, that's okay as long as my children are in need for footwear...right?

    Feeble! :rotfl:

I have no doubt that many bailiffs are fine human beings and loving parents when they are not on duty. However, doing the job effectively involves being horrible to people. This means that if a bailiff calls on you, they are likely to behave as if they were absolute scum.

The same as the police, then, or judges, or soldiers.

    Are they scum, too?
  • I've just read through the thread and I just wanted to say, check all 3 credit reports and keep checking them. It is not uncommon for your mail to be opened and your details used to gain credit. She would only need your basic details and a utility bill or two, easily obtained when living under your roof.

My wedding ring and other items were taken by my au pair shortly before she left for home and she never returned even though she was supposed too. Lock up your valuables and bill/passport/bank information and then serve her notice.

From what I gathered she has a new job, so will not be broke and homeless but still that is not your problem. Her debt's are not your problem. You would be better off finding a nice new lodger who will pay you rent, after all your not a charity, are you?.
    Mortgage: Aug 12 £114,984.74 - Jun 14 £94000.00 = Total Payments £20984.74

Get her out and get someone in who will pay their way.

You are effectively supporting a stranger financially by allowing this to continue

If she is a lodger you didn't need a tenancy agreement in the first place. I would serve her notice to leave, maybe if you are feeling generous and are sure that things won't go missing, give her a week to clear her things.

She has taken advantage of your good nature, she only has herself to blame.

Remember to march her out the door and get the key in person. As a rule, do landlords change their locks in shared residencies?
  • It came to a head yesterday, I woke up to her smoking in her room (against the agreement which I think is a lodgers agreement I'm not sure I may have got that wrong) I told her not to and she seemed to think it was acceptable to then verbally attack me with comments about my ongoing depression/ anxiety such as 'youre a psycho, you're mental' etc. She went on to make a number of comments about my mental state and how I belittle her etc. (I hate to say it but if she doesn't understand what I'm saying that's because she's really not intelligent at all) I told her that if she hated me that much she should get out of my house and stop leeching money from me, I then locked my stuff up, left the house and told her to get out by the end of the day for breaching the terms of contract.

I managed to get all the items she had 'borrowed' back, mostly items of clothing, curlers and every single drinking glass in the house, she has threatened me with a few things on leaving but I am not concerned, after she left I found some paperwork under her bed from the 'leaving care team' saying she was irresponsible, unable to take on a tenancy because she doesn't seem to care what can go wrong if she doesn't pay and she was a raging alcoholic as well as a danger to others when she drinks so I'll be contacting her social worker asking why they allowed me to take her in without informing me she was a danger to others (the care team helped her move in here by paying deposit etc) and incapable of holding a tenancy but mostly I'll be contacting a small claims court, she has no choice, she can pay me back or I'll contact her new landlord and let them know she's illegally subletting his room and what her record with rent is, I'd rather noone go through what I have in particularly the abuse I suffered yesterday!

Today I'm getting some paint and cleaning products, erasing the mess she made of my home and thinking good !!!!ing riddance. :money:

Go OP! So do you think she will leave? Have you got any mates for "back up" if she refuses to go?

Where did you find her in the first place, just out of curiosity?

TBH, I'd just put it behind me and move on rather than chase the impossible or try to make things more difficult for her.
