Sky to be cancelled 19th aug - no retention call yet!?

No. That's the sting.
When your discounted period ends, your Sky service will continue uninterrupted and Sky will silently start charging you the full, undiscounted tariff.
If you'll want to cancel the service, remember that you need to give Sky 31 days' notice – so call them a month before your discount is due to end.
Hardly a sting, and hardly silently!
I'm no Sky lover, but they are only acting like most other companies do.
Just like the Halifax do when my savings rate goes back to normal just a year after my special offer ends.
or
My BT Broadband goes back to the normal price exactly a year after my special £10 discount offer ends.
or
My money off coupons from Tesco expire exactly on the date they say they will, and after that Tesco won't let me get any money off.
or
Motor companies who advertise VAT free cars purchased in July and August charge full price in September.
I think everyone is aware that ANY special offer reverts to standard when the offer ends. It's not a sting and it's certainly not silent."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

It is for the customer who is unaware of such company practices.0 -
films can be had for free if you join tesco rewards and then it comes from blinkbox via your computer which you can connect to your tv.
downside is they show advertisements and there can be 4 breaks showing 3 adverts per film.
plus if you do use tesco/rewards then you can hire 3 movies for £2.50 of rewards tokens. Wisdom doesn't necessarily come with age.
Sometimes age just shows up all by itself
In the end, it's not the years in your life
that count....it's the life in your years

Quite so. Thanks for the support. :money:poppasmurf_bewdley wrote: »

When we get to the end of the MSE £10 something a month deal, will it just turn off then if I don't do anything? I was going to call and cancel it.

He's probably best ignored, except when his factual inaccuracies need to be corrected for the benefit of other people.

What more need one add?
Thanks again.

Gratis - I'm pleased you find my posts on this forum interesting enough for you to check my profile. I'm afraid yours haven't encouraged me to do likewise with yours.
I'm perfectly happy to stick with my statistics at the side. As I've told you before - when you can compete then come back and I may take your comments seriously.
You can make your personal insults, but don’t take yourself so seriously, as no one else does. You will soon find out that on this forum, those who throw out personal comments get short shrift from the more mature and established members. You will learn."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

Thanks folks, I figure I would have to call and canx it but the op threw me there for a second, I thought they meant they were planning to stay with Sky after the discount year, but Sky hadn't called so they were worried about getting cut off.
Incidentally, the first time I bought a years mobile phone contract, I thought when the year was up it would just switch off - obviously they don't. . I think folk often think that, and whether or not it is a rip, people do feel cheated when they get charged again, or find by the time they've noticed they're going to have to pay a fourteenth month payment becausethe 30 days to cancel takes them past another instalment date."There is no substitute for time."
