So 18 months ago I broke up with my then o/h. Unfortunately I had let him use my cc (already had 12k of his own debt) so when we broke up I had nearly 3k racked up in my name. I also had 0% finance on furniture.
Anyway I've worked really hard and can say that today it is all cleared. I made massive overpayments on the furniture and made quite a few sacrifices along the way. I was also unemployed for some of this time as well. Finally feel like he is 100% out of my life now.0 -

Hi there everyone!!
Just finally started my own debt-free challenge! I have 6 creditors and a debt of £7,220!
Really inspiring to read all these messages about people on their own journeys! Can't wait to get steaming away on mine!
Well done everyone!August debt 2013: £5102.55
Debt free by August 2015! :T
The Big Quit n' Save Day [STRIKE]1[/STRIKE]6: £0.000 -
I have 3 creditors and august is a landmark for two of them because:
at xmas 2012 Capital One balance was 1950 and each month I have been emailing them to permanently reduce my balance by £100 and so when I do this in August I will be under the £1000 balance and I am absolutely ecstatic - I am going to continue doing this until the balance is £600.
August also signals i'm over half way through a 2 year loan - only 11 payments left !!!
Sadly I've still got my carloan and the only positive thing I can think to say about that is one more payment takes me to under the 3k mark.
you've always gotta look for small landmarks I find it really motivates me. :rotfl:0 -
