I've had a long think and decided just to go back to ebay, I did well there last year. What put me off was the discussion boards full of sellers cracking up at new fees etc - but most of these are power sellers and I'm not. I jsut can't rake up the energy and enthusiasm to set up a website and then sit and watch nobody finding it. At least with ebay you get seen ..

If you chose the right niche and keyword phrases then, you'll be found quite easily with Google and the main search engines. The main areas to focus on are the products/services you provide, the content for your site and the keyword phrases you choose (low competition).

It only as difficult or easy as you want it to be.
