  • Thanks you two......... both great advice as ever.

    A big big thanks!
  • Just a thought........ at no point in my SOFT APPEAL did I confirm that I was the driver or was the shopper at crown wharf.

Does PE asking proof if receipt from me seem dodgy?

No, there's no conspiracy. If it's just a shop receipt then it won't show a name of who was doing the shopping. Similarly with bank/credit card accounts there can be dual card holders.

Stop overly worrying and go for it. The sooner you have the cancellation letter, the sooner the worry stops.

Tomorrow - Post Office! (and get a free Certificate of Posting as proof if needed in due course).

  • Thanks guys dad coupon mad stroma unkomaas and others
My pcn has been cancelled by PE after I sent them proof of bank statement that I shopped in that retail park which they asked for in response to my initial soft appeal.
They wrote back saying " on this occasion as a gesture of goodwill we will be cancelling this charge"

    Thanks everyone for your support

Parking Eye are in danger of picking up a reputation for being reasonable if you can prove that you were a genuine shopper.
  • I was so shocked to have received the cancellation of my pcn.
I genuinely thought I would have to go via popla etc etc

I think if people got proof of shopping there it's worth sending it with the soft appeal initial letter

Definitely. Whilst it might not be the ideal PPC defeat that some fundamentalists might crave, it nonetheless brings instant relief to the one-off PCN recipient, and this is what they came to the forum for.

There are plenty of other newbies who need to go to (and succeed at) POPLA and get the necessary forum advice that draws a bit more PPC blood.

Then there's the dedicated PCN chasers (like Parking Prankster) who don't care what the PPC throws at them, they'll take them on and win - which does provide regulars with definite satisfaction.

Receipts do work with PE - they are definitely Jekyll and Hyde, from the seemingly reasonable (as in this case) to the rabid pitbull of the Aldi Tarmac.

Anyway - well done joshdommarc, glad to have been able to help.
