Our buyers contacted my wife through Facebook last weekend. It was a polite message asking if we were looking forward to moving and could we let them know where abouts we were up to.

My wife told them we're waiting for the search results to come back and once they're back we'd all be a step closer. Our buyers want to be moved in next week but we can't see that happening (we're on holiday that week too, so it's not happening anyway).

They were very nice and understanding about it all, so I really don't have any issue with it as long as it doesn't become anything other than polite enquiries.

If you're not friends with the recipient then any message you sent will go into their 'other' folder and they probably won't see it.

Well to all who said they'd not sell to me, your pathetic, for me it was 100% right as they got on to there solicitor first thing this morning and we are now exchanging tomorrow,

Why should you not send a message to someone if the technology is there to do so when your about to give them a shed load of money, I was polite as people said and its paved the way for the house move rather than my frustrations ending the process, when its now clear its not the sellers fault.

Fart, great name, very grown up, when you buy your own house and don't live through your parents, then have your say, and make it more sensible, if you sold a car, which is a fraction of a house cost, would you do it via a third party, no you have a chat with the owner, so why not do such a thing for a house, the long drawn out, he said she said is pathetic to chase around solicitors and estate agents.

I bought my own house in cash yesterday. :T

The assumption that goes on on this forum is brilliant.

Also, you're mocking me for not being grown up yet basically posted saying WAAAAHHHHH I WANT TO EXCHANGE NOW WAHHHHHHHHH. Good job. Enjoy your mortgage.

Rapished I can understand you. I too think you should not have contacted them via facebook, but I can understand. I am going through the buying proccess at the moment and it is driving me insane. I am a straight forward case, no chain as it is a shared ownership, solicitor and IFA have been brilliant but I have been showing nerves from day 1 and probably need until christmas to recover once this is over. I have not contacted anyone via facebook nor have I tweeted anyone, but I drove my IFA crazy with my constant need for an update when there were in fact no news. At the moment I am phoning around like an idiot because I am due to complete on Friday and have not yet heard from the HA as to who my contact person will be and what the procedure is. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I think they are fed up with me. I managed to get a mobile number for someone today and left them a message. They did not call back. Needless to say I will be on the phone again tomorrow morning :o I think something might go wrong at the last minute. Also, I still cannot quite believe I could have an apartment for myself soon. Few times a day I drag out the letter from my solicitor confirming exchange of contracts and the completion date just to read it again and convince myself this is happening :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Fart, um ok only you know the truth about that, but I'll enjoy my three mortgages when they all come good.

catflapuk, yes mate its been a total mess, the estate agents, acting for them have told us on many occasions he's a nightmare seller, and they cant believe we held on, and our solicitor said, he was waiting for us to pull out as he could not believe the guy, what fart has not seen is the multiple posts I'd made previously about this purchase, but its looking like its coming good, I should thank the sellers mum, they had to contact her to get him to do anything, bit like farts posts, pathetic really.
