May be worth keeping a photocopy of everything you send to the passport office, not in case they lose it but in case you need it all again for any subsequent passport renewals, also children's passports last for two 5 year periods, although you do pay for 10 years when you apply.

I renewed DD's lst yr as her 1st was a 5 yr passport, and I had to pay for the passprt again this time round, about £70 or £80 quid, be prepared for the extra expenses x

How about a teacher or the headteacher at the children's previous school? I'm a teacher and have to do this regularly for parents at my school, friends and neighbours. You can probably email the school via their website if it isn't near you now and explain why you need to ask them.

yay think ive sorted it, just rang my daughters camhs worker to see when her next appt is as ive lost the card, its for 2nd september and I asked reception if she'd sign the pictures for us and she checked said thats fine no problem. My only concern is although camhs have been involved with my daughter for nearly 4 years now this particular worker has only been our worker for a year so hoping she doesnt change her mind when she sees she has to have known me 2 years. Also the younger 3 children will be at school on this day so not sure if she will sign their pics saying its a true likeness of them because how will she know (shes never met them before)
