I use adsense but my website is still early stages, so only has about 50-100 views per day.

I get on average about 1-2 clicks per month and make about 50p per click.

The pin took an absolute age to come through in the post, like weeks and weeks

I got 7224 page views last month and only 284 clicks.

a 4% CTR isnt that bad, 3-5% is generally considered the normal sort of range for a reasonable site that doesnt have one of the slightly dodgy themes to push clicks onto links.

I think my website is normally around 4%-4.5%

  • I have been on it nearly two months now but I haven't received my pin in the post yet to confirm my address. If you are on it how long did it take you to receive your pin.
    .

I was on hold from about 9th-10th of this month , my pin arrived on Saturday . Dont know if mine was quick or yours is very slow ?

does anybody know how you contact google adsense because i been having this message for the past month! :-
"Your AdSense for content application is still under review. You will only see blank ads until your account has been fully approved or disapproved. Learn more."

anybody else had this problem or am i doing something wrong?
  • My pin took an age to come as well. If you pin came through that quickly then you are lucky because mine took ages to come.

Adz to contact Google Adsense it is quite hard because you need to have an account this is making them money. Best thing to do is just wait. They do take a while to review applications. Mine took quite a while as well.

Let me know how you get on.

I have adsense on my Youtube channel and website, income varies, last month was a little over £500. I get about 700 views per day on my website CTR 4%, and about 22000 per day on youtube CTR 2%
From my experience the trick is to create content that people want to share, about half my clicks come from a video that went viral, don't know why I've never managed to replicate it despite have nealy 140 videos uploaded now!
All this has been hard work, 100's if not 1000's hours over the last 4 years, certainly not a get rich quick scheme :rotfl:
The income goes towards paying a business debt with my ltd company, so I don't count it as income. However should be clear by the end of the year so I can start getting some dividends and pay off my personal debts quicker.
The scarey thing about adsense is you can't rely on it, I've heard too many stories where people have had their adsense accounts suspended, and every time google launch a new update my traffic can fluctuate wildly, usually downwards! (I used to get around 3000 website views a day, but since panda/penguin/phantom this is down to 700 :()

Making money from Google Adsense and the like should always be viewed as a long and not short term project and like you say it certainly doesn't happen overnight.

  • Your account will get approved only if you have a website. That is what confirms your authority on the web. If you directly apply for adsense for youtube, it will not work.

Re-register for google adsense with a website and then use the same adsense for youtube. It worked for me. I was stuck in the same pin issue earlier like you.
  • That's good to know. But how was your account activated without the pin. Mine did not.

Not strictly true. You can have a free blog like Blogger and be able to get approved and make a few quid from it.
