Using Google to make money

Hello there,

I was wondering if anybody else is using the Google Adsense program to make money? If you haven't heard of it its where you make YouTube videos of have a website and you let Google advertise on your page or on your videos just before they get played when somebody clicks on them.

I have been on it nearly two months now but I haven't received my pin in the post yet to confirm my address. If you are on it how long did it take you to receive your pin.

If you are not using it yet then I would recommend doing it if you like making videos or doing blogs. It does take quite a while to get going. Anyway would love to hear if any of you are using it.

Sorry if I have put this in the wrong section but I thought it would fit nicely in here because it is classed as increasing your income.

It is something that I have set up a while ago, when I still lived in the USA but that I don't have as much understanding of as I would like.
Pennies trickle in very slowly, but I haven't cashed out yet. I am at 71.00 and need 100.00 to be sent a cheque

I've had limited success using the Google Adsense program, but I was finding it a more of a distraction for potential customers against the money I could make.

Most of my traffic is quite targeted towards specific keyword phrases and the money I make with my own and affiliate sales is much better than having a bunch of adverts on my sites and blogs, so I tend to shy away now from Google ads.

Yeah I understand. Like I said I think unless you are getting loads of views you are not going to make a massive income! You have gotta try though and that is what I am going to do.

Ive been slowly adding google ads on my site since about Feb ,(need to get back to adding more) , I dont do videos, just the website ,
then this weekend they said the pin will be sent out so Ive no idea if theres a normal.

In all that time its been a slow drip drip pennies. Its not going to make me millions but hopefully it will build.

I also have amazon links which also drip drip but the site more than pays for its self over the year just through Amazon ads.
Ive tried affiliate links before but nothing on those at all.

That's interesting. Have you cashed out yet with Google Adsense? Where are you based? In the UK I know that you have to get £60 before you can actually get paid for the month. I am only on £19 at the moment but I haven't found out what I earn't last month. I did get 7,000 views last month so I am hoping it will be a good amount.

My pin to confirm my address was sent out late July and I haven't recieved it yet. Its quite annoying that you have to wait for that. I am not sure if you even still earn money while you are waiting for your pin to come through. I will let you know though what happens.

As I said before I just earn money using blogger and also videos. I would reccommend using videos even if they are just to go on your site because they will help your site and earn you money from getting views on YouTube.

Let me know how you get on. There has surly got to be some more people who are using this. I see so many people on YouTube saying how much money they have made but haven't heard from anybody directly actually earning a lot of money.

I use Google Adsense on my website. I have one banner on the website and its in the same place on every page. I have told myself to stop messing about with it and just leave it there to do its job quietly and stop mucking around with it.

Has anyone seen the Adsense Scorecard ? It's on the homepage when you log in.
It's quite handy, I switched from text to text/image ads and now earn pennies just from people viewing the website (even if they dont click).
I don't bother much with Site Health. I did do a complete fresh install though and got rid of mod's that weren't used and any random coding I had changed
The google+ button is an odd one, not many people use it really but I still added it, just to see the 5 blue dots .. LOL

Im in the uk aswell, your earnings are better then mine, if I could add videos I would but I wouldnt be able to, already looked into it , copyright issues with the sites theme/content.
Since Ive been 'on hold' awaiting the pin , Ive still got a few pennies being shown each day so I dont think it stops you earning while you wait.

Keep looking at the site health which seems fine at the moment.
Ive got the google+ , fB , pintrest, and others. Doesnt seem to make much difference, but still added them.

I got told today that I got over 7,000 views/clicks in the July month and I only made £10. Quite dissapointed but it just shows unless you are getting millions of views you are not going to make that much. I am going to give them a message in a few weeks once my pin comes just to ask them how it all works. I need to do a bit of research and see how I can boost my ratings. It can only get better though!

Yes, I use Adsense. I'm currently earning between £40-70 per month. I need more traffic to my sites to take this to the next level.
