  • Been a crappy day here, DS1 so over tired from the football so he's in bed already (hopefully better form in the morning). OH didn't sleep last night and had abit of a weird night so appointment got for him this morning, meds changed so hopefully he'll be ok in a few days (sleeping on sofa at minute). Ozzy been for jabs and vet was abit surprised how much he likes to bite, so far I've got him sort of trained to sit and to bring me his toy. I really hope this is just teething and he settles very soon.

Flying wise I've tidied kitchen abit, gonna go and sort Ozzy's room out now and then deal with the washing. Must get another child to bed too.

    I've had jobs like that;)

When I worked at the bingo though, I would pole up at 5:25pm to be told by my supervisor 'you should have been here 5 minutes ago! (shift started at 5:30, officially) - I always retorted 'Why? What happened?'

(You can be cheeky when you're good at your job and I was a very accurate, and quick, bookseller;))

DS had an offer from somewhere down there Soappie - Portsmouth I think. That you?

Yeah, I can cope with it but it's actually wrong. ... I think the person in charge has only ever worked in this particular place. She probably learned her managerial behaviours from the person who was in post for 20 years before she was. Consequently, she's about 40 years out of touch wrt with what's going on in the real world....

Nope - Pompey is more the territory Frodders lives in. I'm a bit to the west....

    Oh, right.

Just been on the phone to mum. We are sharing the hire of a carpet shampoo machine from Morries. Will only cost us an extra £5 to have it for 48 hours instead of 24; I think that would be a good idea as we neither of us know what we're doing and how to use it...but can we find a mutually acceptable 48 hours window? Not at the moment! She's retired, I'm off - talk about busy!

Not much flying here. But I've finally labelled DD's blazer, also removing the spare button (she'll loose it knowing her, its now in a baggy labelled in my sewing kit) and the MASSIVE white label for her name & class. The entire blazer is black so DD asked if I could take it out. I have to remember that its to be washed separately from the rest of the washing as it says "do not use fabric conditioner" on it but its much better quality than the Mr A one I bought her last year so I'm hoping it'll last better as well!

I've done some dailies, some laundry but haven't tackled the ironing. I'm really tired today, guessing its the lack of caffeine in my system after I ran out of 'normal' coffee and only have decaf left so trying to stick to sitting down jobs and the ironing appeals even less than usual right now.

I've dealt with a tadpole: I kept all the letters that have been sent home from school for the past year in a ringbinder so I've just been through and sorted them all out. Some I need to keep for reference (various log-in details to the portals on the school website), others like achievements/reports I've kept and put in an envelope clearly labelled, loads recycled and a few added to the shred box as they had my address on them. I then set the folder up again as she's in that many clubs, then trips and stuff I need to keep on top of the paperwork this coming year as the letters sometimes come en masse. Hopefully since the new headteacher has been in the position a full year now and appears to be utilising the website/t1tter/fac3b00k more, the number of letters home will decrease!

Next I'm going to get utube going with some knitting tutorials. Its a while since I did anything other than garter stitch. I'm hoping it'll keep my hands busy of an evening and stop me snacking if I can get started on some projects ;)

    Hi all

Flying a bit limited tonight - went to give blood tonight, had an appointment for 6.45, turned up at 6.40 to be told there was at least half hour wait. I'm ashamed to say I was a bit disgruntled in a 'what's the point of making an appointment' type way. I then had a serious word with myself. Late OH had transfusions and they made him feel better, a half hour wait is nothing in comparison to what he and others in his position. My friend L who's cancer came back so quickly this year was also in my thoughts. Sadly she has been told the worst.

CY it's brilliant to hear that DD1 has had a great time

  • A busy couple of days with school uniform shopping, car servicing and work. I've been on light duties flying-wise, but have chomped some huge frogs so I am more than satisfied with progress.

    Extra Mission
Defrost the freezer and make a list of things to use up this week
[STRIKE]Find 10 things to throw/give away[/STRIKE] - emptied the pantry, wiped it all down, decobwebbed it, mopped it and flung away dozens of glass jars that "will come in useful" - they never have in the last 2 years, so I don't think they will ever.

[STRIKE]Check kids pencil cases ready for the return for school, no kids sort your own stationery, think about planner/diary for next year if you like a 16 month one[/STRIKE] Went to Staples in the Big City - I was in heaven :D

BTW - just for info - whilst in Staples, I spotted a bumper pack of 32 Nicky Elite loo rolls on offer from £15 to £9 - BARGAIN! Shame they don't fit in the usual space in the airing cupboard :rotfl:

Shower curtain taken down, washed and replaced. Our bed stripped, hoovered and remade. School shoes purchased for DD. Invoices created and delivered. Cheques banked. The first 3 Harry Potter movies returned to the library. Nos. 4 & 5 rented out. Recycling dumped. Two items dropped off at the charity shop. Food shop done. Went for a cuppa with a friend. Weedkiller put down on the drive. Had a BBQ tonight and have taken the kids and the dog to the local lake to do some body boarding. Fighting the urge to go out and buy a bottle of wine.
