I went over to that site to have a look once, and had to have a lie down in a darkened room, followed by a quick rub down with a microfibre cloth. Far too scary for me - she takes it all much too seriously.

Exactly what I thought. I was really confused by it all. :o Do you just follow what's on this thread then?

Your comment about the off white sofa covers reminds me, can someone recommend a way to get my sofa back to white. It's grimy and grubby. I would like to dye it, anyone got any experience with cold water coffee dyeing?

Has it got removable covers? I just stick mine in the washer and they come up fine each time. They're white with a pastel-y flower pattern though, so the stains aren't that noticable I guess :o

@ ditsykitchen more or less; depending on your own home (ie layout) and lifestyle. The benefit of us is we're flexible and we know that RL gets in the way;)

If I am super busy I focus on the areas that NEED a weekly clean, which in my case would be bathroom and kitchen, which I do on the same day (mop utilisation;))

Lil' frog scoffed - one bank statement input and reconciled. They send 'em faster than I can be bothered to process 'em! 2 to do.

Have also put my meds away (5 items on last script  that prepay cert was a WISE decision - I think I have pre-orderedenough HRT to last me to next year - and that stuff costs double - I think I have had 12 items for my £29.95:money:).
Also have now noticed that my cough has gone since I have been on the preventer and I am sleeping better!
(On the down side this means I am not putting as much stuff through on cheap leccy):rotfl:

I have also photographed a valued and treasured item to see if my magazine will value it! DD hates it - I love it and this will stop it being skipped when I kick the bucket. So - 'half a frog' - now I have to upload it to the PC then email it to them - 2 more frogs, then:rotfl:

HoneyBear - that sounds like a lovely evening - but can I have white wine with my dip, please? Love red wine but I suffer for it...what are we dipping IN it?

BTW I tried Aldi's breadsticks - half the price of everywhere else and JUST as good!

Yes *crosses fingers behind back* all of it, every day.

This week, so far, I have swept the kitchen floor, scrubbed out the loo, washed and line-dried a couple of loads including our bed, tidied, moved yet more stuff into the correct rooms and have spent the whole of the rest of the time working my way through the carp piled on my desk. I haven't been able to get into my office to work for a month and I am hopelessly behind with all my paperwork. Some of it's rather urgent. Or was, a month ago. :o

I have to say that in the early days, I did as much as I could on the lists, and that way the house started the long haul from being an absolute pit to being relatively straightforward to bring up to scratch.
    Better is good enough.

Ditzy I don't think many (or probably any) of us visit the US site. This thread, many years ago, was 'inspired by it' we don't use their lists at all. The lists do change week by week, I look at what Natty did the week before, think of the season and what needs doing in my home. I've been 'flying' for abut 6 years so you are in safe hands;):D Things like wash the duvets etc will periodically come up with Festive bits, prep fo winter etc etc. Don't over think it for now, see how you get on over the first month. Remember the lists are only a guide, you can do anything you want.

Honeybear - you know me, anything counts :D

Ah not actually got anywhere with the flying here. Kids fe, just going to do my dinner, take D2 to work and then hopefully do a bit in the LR.

Ah, Dusty would be so proud of me, and doubly so if you were joining us. The dippers are a packet of Jakob's crackers, 18 months out of date (I'll blame 'digestive' problems on sailors' lack of sea legs) and as for the white wine wimps, we've got half a carafe left over from the filmcrew dinners that I was going to use to bake some more nectarines, but you can have it, Valli, and welcome aboard.

Thanks :) This seems a better system to me anyway!

-Do you follow the other stuff from flylady's site like the control journal thing?
No way - far too scary
-How do you organise your calendar/diary (any links to good ideas would be appreciated)?
It organises itself around family life, which takes far higher precedence than a bit of cleaning :D

    Absolutely :rotfl:

Bonnie, big congrats on the early success of your business
CY, delighted to hear that your DD1 has had a good time :)
Valli, glad you're feeling better :j
Skinty, that Perseid pizza party sounds a brilliant idea and something your kids will remember for a long long time :T I was up at 3.30 am and saw one absolutely stunning meteor which was bigger and brighter than a Bonfire Night rocket - never seen one like that before!

Today I have moved boxes, swept and vacuumed, dealt with tradesmen and tried to tidy my desk. DH has started painting the downstairs bedroom but had to stop in order to lay some 6mm plywood on the bathroom floor, cutting round lots of pipes, so that the plumber can fit the WC tomorrow - then we won't have to traipse downstairs in the middle of the night any more :)

Must cook tea now so that DH can go to his model railway club while I try to swallow the frog which has been sitting on my desk for a week or more.... :o

Busy day at work today - it being clearing week 'n all. So there'll be little flying here tonight unfortunately. I will make dinner but that'll be about it because I'm pooped.

I've recently taken on a new role at work and it seems that they don't tell you what you need to do until you've not done it so you learn not to be remiss in the next academic cycle by being told off for not doing it in this! Totally stupid!

But never mind, the farce that is "confirmation and clearing"continues and will be over by the end of the week. (Farce as in the fact that no not enough prospectives have actually achieved their offer - hey, let's accept them anyway - even though we asked for 3 A levels and they've only got 1 and an NVQ in beer making....) Setting them up to fail if you ask me but it's alright, our admission figures will look good for the government....
