Pick up new car Wednesday insurance Quandary?

When I bought a s/h Kia earlier this year, the dealer definitely taxed it for me before I picked it up. In fact, them paying the VED was part of the deal.
The new system is for new cars only, dealers up until July issued the Tax disk themselves, dealers tax secondhand cars at Post Office, this has not changed.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0 -

He has no cause for complaint, if he wanted the bike before the end of July then it would need to be taxed from the beginning of July, tax disks run from the 1st of the month, he should have asked for delivery on or after 1st of August if he wanted to take advantage of the full 12 months.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0 -

He was just moaning rather than making an official complaint. I bought mine at the beginning of the month so little lost (in as much of a money saving expert style as you can get when buying a new car)0 -

Disagree, when I had my car from new 29th March, the car had just over 12 months VED was 53 weeks, don't know if that is because it was a 1st reg.0
